Abstract
An improved process for manufacture of (E-7-[4-(4-fluorophenyl)-6-isopropyl-2-[methyl(methylsulfonyl)amino]pyrimidin-5-yl](3N,5S)-3,5-dihydroxyhept-6-enoic acid calcium salt, Formula (1), which is useful for the production of a pharmaceutical useful in the treatment of, inter alia, hypercholesterolemia, hyperlipoproteinemia and atherosclerosis, is described.
