A method for correcting postoperative cognitive dysfunctions comprises the use of neuroprotectors. In the aged patients, the drugs are adminisreted in 30 minutes prior to the end of the surgery, then in 12 hours after the surgery and daily for 5 days. Cytoflavin is administered intravenously dropwise in a volume of 10 mL dissolved in 200 mL of 5 % glucose solution. The younger patients receive Cyticolin at a dose of 1000 mg in 200 mL of 0.9 % solution of sodium chloride according to the same schedule.
