Abstract

A method for controlling water erosion of soils includes constructing embankments, combined with flow-regulating ditches across a slope, filling the ditches with organic filler and laying up cavins of mole drains, which diverge as fans under inclines, on the neighbouring slopes, which do not allow silting and washing out by water flows. The territory of cavin catchment basin is preliminary divided into two erosion-hydrological areas, in particular the area of intensive formation of local runoff and overmoisturized area. In the first area part of a surface-water flow is transferred into that groundwater by means of laying down a network of mole drains in the direction from the areas of the maximum surface-water flow up to the adjacent slopes of the cavin. In the second area part of the groundwater is transferred, correspondingly, into a surface-water cavin stream, with this end in view the network of mole drains is laid down in the direction from the overmoisturized intercavin space up to thalweg part of the cavin.
