Abstract

The invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, in particular to out-of-furnace treatment of cast iron. A compact-material contains powder filler-core of slagmetal components, placed in steel shell, which contains magnesium, staurolite, iron-graphite waste of blast-furnace production – crust, in the following ratio of ingredients: magnesium: staurolite: crust = 1 : (1.5-3.5) : (1-4). The cost of new material is 30-40 % lower than serial one, which contains 30 % of magnesium and 70 % of staurolite, at the same technological efficiency of treatment of liquid cast iron.
