Abstract

A method for determination of viability of microbial cells immobilized on carriers includes serial dilutions of initial suspension of cells, inoculation and cultivation in Petri dishes with agar medium and calculation of number of macrocolonies. Before serial dilution non-immobilized cells is preliminarily removed from initial suspension of cells through centrifugation in test-tubes provided with membranes. Serial dilutions are carried out in solution of agar with concentration enough for provision of uniform distribution of complexes “carrier-immobilized cells” in volume of solution.
