Abstract
A method for assessing the efficacy of Oxprenolol treatment in the patients with ischemic heart disease, cardiac angina and arterial hypertension with impaired diastolic function of the left ventricle of 'hypertrophic' type provides for comparison of the state of patients prior to and after the treatment. Prior to the treatment, Doppler echocardiography at rest is performed. Transmitral blood flow is assessed by measuring the rate of the early diastolic filling. The analogous examination is performed after the treatment. When the rate of the early diastolic filling in the left ventricle increases by at least 8.4 % as compared with that prior to the treatment, hemodynamic result and anti-anginal effect are considered as positive.
