The proposed waterproof screened power cable contains a number of conductors that are twisted in the same direction and enclosed by an insulating polymer sheath. The sheath is coated with a braided screen made from a wound copper strip. The cable conductors are applied with high density. To insulate each conductor, a layer of vulcanized polyethylene with high insulation resistance and an outside layer of conducting polymer material are used. The insulation sheath of the cable is coated with a layer of nonmetallic water-absorbing material or water-absorbing film. The polymer sheath may be made from a standard polyvinylchloride, polyethylene, or polyvinylchloride providing protection against combustion or reduced gas emission in combustion. The gaps between the twisted cable conductors are filled with extruded polymer.
