Abstract

A method for growing laboratory populations of species of the Trichogramma (Hymenoptera, Trichogrammatidae) genus includes growing the Trichogramma in eggs of feeding insects. The eggs of the oaken silkworm of the domestic breed Poliskyi tassar (Antheraea pernyi G.-М.), caterpillars of which were grown on leaves of common oak, are used as a host insect of the Trichogramma. The eggs of the silkworm, the mass of pupae females of which is 8 and more grams were used for infecting.

Description

Food for trichogramma in silkworms: Leaves and eggs of the common domestic oak (method, which breed is offered) Polisky tassar. The technological method is efficient and productive

It was established that the proposed method was successfully implemented within the stated parameters. According to the results of the test characteristics, the method significantly exceeds the indicators of the closest analogue. So, if the fecundity of females in the closest analogue was 39.1 eggs, then in the proposed method this indicator was 51.3 eggs. Similar indicators for other test characteristics.

Thus, the proposed method is characterized by significant efficiency and productivity. It is significant that for the mass cultivation of laboratory populations of species of the genus Tispodgatta, it is proposed to use the monovoltine breed of the oak silkworm Polisky tassar as part of the method. In the conditions of Ukraine, the silkworm is unable to exist in forest plantations. In fact, it is only a laboratory culture with all its inherent properties. Therefore, the species cannot pose a potential danger as a pest of forest plantations. The method allows the use of silkworms for the needs of mass cultivation of trichogram, in addition to its main purpose for obtaining natural silk raw materials - silkworms.
