Abstract

The invention proposed relates to analytical chemistry and can be used at development of optical sensor. Method for determination of mercury in water through preliminary extraction of mercury fwom solution with sorbent and following determination of amount of mercury. As sorbent one uses silicagel "Chemapol" L 40/100 for chromatography, modified with phenylthyosemicarbazone of 1.2 naphtochynone (FTSK). Sorbtion is performed during 10-15 minutes at pH 3-4, and amount of mercury is determined with visual comparison of color of sorbent to standard scale of concentrations of mercury.
