Цель – сокращение энергозатрат за счет использования тепла продуктов дегидрирования этилбензола. Поставленная цель достигнута способом получения стирола каталитическим дегидрированием этилбензола в присутствии водяного пара при 600°С. Конденсацию продуктов реакции ведут охлаждением за счет косвенного теплообмена с паровым конденсатом до 150-1801С с последующим компримированием до давления 3-8 ата. После этого продукт конденсируют с помощью косвенного теплообмена с паровым конденсатом. Способ предусматривает использование тепла катализата для подогрева исходных реагентов, а тепла конденсации - для получения водяного пара низкого давления 0,7-0,91 ата.
