Abstract
The invention relates to the field of styrene production by catalytic dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene and can be used in the production of styrene and other vinyl aromatic hydrocarbons. The goal is to reduce energy consumption by using the heat of ethylbenzene dehydrogenation products. This goal was achieved by the method of producing styrene by catalytic dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene in the presence of steam at 600 ° C. Condensation of the reaction products is carried out by cooling due to indirect heat exchange with steam condensate to 150-1801C, followed by compression to a pressure of 3-8 ata. The product is then condensed by indirect heat exchange with steam condensate. The method involves the use of the heat of the catalyzate for heating the initial reagents, and the heat of condensation to obtain water vapor of low pressure 0.7-0.91 ata. Thus, due to the pressure increase at the condensation stage, 306 kcal / kg (versus 140 kcal / kg) of heat is utilized, and when the catalyzate is cooled, 198 kcal / kg (versus 140 kcal / kg). 1 ill.
