Abstract

A method for fining of liquid melts on the base of iron with the use of liquid refining slags and submersible blowoff tuyere involves the supply of refining reagents from above through the blowoff tuyere and its vertical moving in the fining process. A liquid metal is blown with the torch of reduction gaseous oxygen mixture. A liquid slag is blown with the torch of oxidizing gaseous oxygen mixture. And pointed flame is formed during the tuyere immersion into the melt. During the fining process the tuyere is immersed and lifted with simultaneous change of consumption and the ratio of "gas-oxygen" of gaseous oxygen mixture and the form of the flame, at least, twice. The tuyere is immersed into the liquid melt at 0.8-0.85 of its depths, and the supplying of powdery refining reagents is concluded at the depth of 0.15-0.2.
