Abstract

The present invention relates to the process for obtaining of the coagulant from iron-containing sulfuric solution applied for purification of waste water and can be used in the chemical industry. A process for obtaining iron-containing coagulant consists in oxidation of iron sulfate (II) in sulfuric solution at the presence of oxygen-containing gas. Oxidation of iron sulfate (II) is carried out at the presence of manganese dioxide catalyst under the temperature of 40-90 °C. At that the content of free sulfuric acid is taken in excess to the stoichiometry and mole ratio of iron sulfate (II) to manganese dioxide is kept in the range of 2:1.
