Abstract
The invention relates to electrochemical methods of obtaining intercalated graphite (IG) with a high degree of expansion, use to obtain thermally expanded graphite used in nuclear, chemical, thermal power, metallurgy and the like. A mixture of graphite with a 30-94% solution of sulfuric acid at the rate of 0.5-1.0 cm solution on graphite (hereinafter referred to as graphite suspension) is moved to the loading pipe 2, equipped with a roll 3, which equalizes and adjusts the thickness of the graphite suspension layer. Set the gap between the knife electrodes of the anode 4 in the range from to, and the distance of the knife electrodes from the surface of the conveyor belt-separator 13 - within 4-. Activate the drive 7 of the drive drum 6 and set the speed of the conveyor belt-separator 13 within 1-18 cm / min. The graphite suspension is shifted to the movable conveyor belt separator 13, where the roll 3 distributes the graphite suspension on the surface of the movable conveyor belt separator 13 by a layer of thickness 5-. In the process of moving the conveyor belt-separator with a graphite suspension between the anode 4 and the perforated cathode 5, the graphite in suspension under the action of direct electric current with a density of 25-42 mA / cm is converted into a suspension of IG. Then the mixture of electrolysis products falls on the receiving tray 11 with the bounding walls 12. Water jets from the flushing manifolds 10 flush out the residues of IG from the surface of the conveyor-separator and wash the entire product of electrochemical treatment on the receiving tray 11 on the nut filter. EFFECT: increased productivity, simplified design while maintaining high consumer properties of expanded graphite obtained from IG.
