Abstract
The invention relates to the field of ferrous metallurgy. A method for transfer of the furnace work for smelting of silicon ferroalloys by silicon-carbide method into silicon-carbide less method, which involves adjusting the charge, electric and the electrode modes of operation thereof, and also changing the amount of carbon in the charge, at that the following steps are simultaneously carried out: burning of the hearth skull by immersion in a furnace bath of electrodes with working crucibles to the near hearth space, with the decreasing of supplying the excess carbon to the charge to reaching the stoichiometric amount thereof, and liquidation the charge conductivity with enhancing arc conductivity up to 100 %, at the simultaneous controlling of all said regimes including a metal tapping from the furnace. The proposed method allows to clean completely the furnace bath from the hearth skull and to prevent precipitation of carborundum structures in the charge.
