Abstract

The applied method for transporting and cleaning tuberous roots includes operations on delivering a pile, spreading thereof, interacting with different cleaning working elements and removing thereof. Prior to the delivery onto cleaning working elements the pile of tuberous roots is first directed into the lower part of a collector, it is fully reduced and divided into separate components. Then the bodies of the tuberous roots only are gripped with the aid of cleaning rotors of an active type, which transport upwards, in doing so providing combing the stuck soil from surfaces thereof at intensive rotation and interaction with elastic rods, blowing by compressed air and passing over fine admixtures for final separation. A unit for transporting and cleaning tuberous roots includes a feed conveyer, roller cleaning working elements, a finger blanket cleaner and an unloading conveyer. It comprises a collector of a pile of tuberous roots, having a drop-like shape with two lower hollows and formed by the rollers, which are in pairwise counter-rotational movement, in the cross-section. Inside of the collector two cleaning rotors are inclinedly arranged, the lower ends of which are in the lower hollows of the collector, and the upper ones – above a vertical transporting channel. The cleaning rotors are formed by plated scraper conveyers, in which the scrapers are made as arched combs, above the working branches of which brushes with elastic rods, rotating with varying angular speed, are arranged by three ones, in the spaces between which nozzles with compressed air are disposed. Inside of the scraper conveyers beaters with elastic rods are arranged.
