Abstract

The invention relates to medical devices and can be used in orthopedics and traumatology in the treatment of the diseases and injuries of the hip joint. The invention consists in supplementing the conventional design of the leg of the hip joint endoprosthesis. The endoprosthesis contains the shaft with the support flange and the neck. The through longitudinal canal in the shaft is intended for the passage of the flexible element such as metal cord attached on the lower end-face of the shaft (preventing the longitudinal displacement) and the upper end-face of the shaft (preventing the rotation and the axial displacement). The cord is fastened with the aid of the collet clamp designed as the conical split bushing put onto the cord and engaged with the special nut screwed into the upper part of the through longitudinal canal in the shaft. Such a design prevents the unfavorable consequences of the explorative surgery in the case of the fracture of the leg of the prosthesis allowing free removal of the fractured pieces of the neck of endoprosthesis due to the presence of the attached flexible element, namely the metal cord being attached in the tensioned mode. The time of the surgery is reduced since the leg of endoprosthesis is made as pre-assembled construction obviating any manipulation of the components in the course of the surgery. The method allows for improving the patient's quality of the life.
