本發明為一種液晶顯示面板,包括多個像素單元排列成一像素陣列;其中,該液晶顯示面板接收多個資料信號、多個閘極驅動信號、多個控制信號與一額外資料信號;每一該閘極驅動信號中包括一閘極脈波;每一該資料信號中包括資料電壓;該額外資料信號中包括資料電壓;以及每一該控制信號中包括一閘極脈波以及資料電壓。
Description
本發明是有關於一種顯示裝置,且特別是有關於一種高解析度液晶顯示面板與液晶顯示裝置。
請參照第1圖,其所繪示為習知液晶顯示裝置示意圖。液晶顯示裝置100包括:液晶顯示面板110與資料驅動電路120。其中,液晶顯示面板110包括一閘極驅動電路(gate driver)102與像素單元(pixel elerment)p11~p44,且每一個像素單元p11~p44結構相同的,皆包括一開關電晶體、一液晶電容器以及一儲存電容器。
再者,閘極驅動電路102產生閘極驅動信號G_1~G_4,資料驅動電路120產生資料信號D_1~D_4。
像素單元p11~p44排列成像素陣列。以第1圖為例,像素單元p11~p44排列成4×4的像素陣列。其中,每一列的像素單元接收相同的閘極驅動信號G_1~G_4,每一行的像素單元接收相同的資料信號D_1~D_4。
以第一列的像素單元p11~p14為例來說明之。當像素單元p11~p14中的開關電晶體閘極端接收到閘極驅動信號G_1的閘極脈波(gate pulse)而開啟時,像素單元p11中的儲存電容與液晶電容接收資料信號D_1上的資料電壓(data voltage),像素單元p12中的儲存電容與液晶電容接收資料信號D_2上的資料電壓,像素單元p13中的儲存電容與液晶電容接收資料信號D_3上的資料電壓,像素單元p14中的儲存電容與液晶電容接收資料信號D_4上的資料電壓。當然,其他列的像素單元也有相同的連接關係與動作原理,此處不再贅述。
基本上,閘極驅動電路102的閘極驅動信號G_1~G_4會依序產生一閘極脈波,以依序開啟像素陣列中同一列的像素單元。
舉例來說,當閘極驅動信號G_1產生閘極脈波時,第一列的像素單元p11~p14開啟,而資料信號D_1~D_4上的資料電壓則對應的被儲存於像素單元p11~p14。再者,當閘極驅動信號G_2產生閘極脈波時,第二列的像素單元p21~p24開啟,而資料信號D_1~D_4上的資料電壓則對應的被儲存於像素單元p21~p24。並依此類推。
在高解析度的液晶顯示裝置中,例如120Hz畫面更新率(frame rate),8K或4K解析度的液晶顯示裝置,資料信號的寫入時間約為1.9μs。因此,資料信號上的資料電壓會因為負
載效應而無法完整寫入,造成灰階失真而影響液晶顯示裝置的畫面品質。
本發明的目的在於提出一種全新架構的液晶顯示裝置裝置,其液晶顯示面板中包括閘極驅動信號、資料信號與控制信號。其中,控制信號中包括閘極脈波以及資料電壓,閘極脈波係用來開啟像素單元,資料電壓用來儲存於液晶電容器與儲存電容器。
本發明係為一種液晶顯示面板,包括多個像素單元排列一像素陣列,包括:一第(2n-1)列,具有m個像素單元p[(2n-1),x],其中n與m為正整數,且x為1到m的任意正整數;以及一第(2n)列,具有m個像素單元p[(2n),x];其中,該第(2n-1)列中的m個像素單元p[(2n-1),x]之掃描端皆接收一閘極驅動信號G_n;該第(2n-1)列中的一像素單元p[(2n-1),x]的一資料端接收該額外資料信號,且x等於n;該第(2n-1)列中的其他(m-1)個像素單元p[(2n-1),x]的資料端對應接收第x控制信號,且x不等於n;該第(2n)列中的m個像素單元p[(2n),x]的資料端接收第n資料信號;以及該第(2n)列中的m個像素單元p[(2n),x]的掃描端對應接收第x控制信號。
本發明係為一種液晶顯示面板,包括多個像素單元排列成一像素陣列;其中,該液晶顯示面板接收多個資料信號、

請參照第2A圖,其所繪示為本發明液晶顯示面板示意圖。本發明的液晶顯示面板210可運用於高解析度的液晶顯示裝置。液晶顯示面板210包括像素單元(pixel element)p11~p63。其中,像素單元p11~p63為6×3的像素陣列,每一個像素
單元p11~p63結構相同,皆包括一開關電晶體、一液晶電容器以及一儲存電容器。
開關電晶體的閘極極端為液晶單元的掃描端(scan terminal),開關電晶體的第一汲源端(drain/source terminal)為液晶單元的資料端。液晶電容器與儲存電容器並聯,並連接至開關電晶體的第二汲源端。
再者,液晶顯示面板210接收閘極驅動信號G_1~G_3、資料信號Data_X1~Data_X3、額外資料信號exData、控制信號Ctrl_Y1~Ctrl_Y3。
根據本發明的實施例,第一列的像素單元p11~p13,其掃描端接收閘極驅動信號G_1,像素單元p11的資料端接收額外資料信號exData,像素單元p12的資料端接收控制信號Ctrl_Y2,像素單元p13的資料端接收控制信號Ctrl_Y3。

第五列的像素單元p51~p53,其掃描端接收閘極驅動信號G_3,像素單元p51的資料端接收控制信號Ctrl_Y1,像素單元p52的資料端接收控制信號Ctrl_Y2,像素單元p53的資料端接收額外資料信號exData。
第六列的像素單元p61~p63,其資料端接收資料信號Data_X3,像素單元p61的掃描端接收控制信號Ctrl_Y1,像素單元p62的掃描端接收控制信號Ctrl_Y2,像素單元p63的掃描端接收控制信號Ctrl_Y3。
第2A圖僅以6×3的像素陣列為例來說明本發明的液晶顯示面板,在此領域的技術人員也可以擴展至其他尺寸的液晶顯示面板。以下以液晶螢幕為2n×m的像素陣列來說明之,其中n與m為正整數。
在像素陣列中,第(2n-1)列具有m個像素單元p[(2n-1),x],其中,x為1至m的任意正整數。所有的像素單元的掃描端皆接收閘極驅動信號G_n。再者,一個像素單元p[(2n-1),x],x=n的情況,其資料端接收額外資料信號exData,而其他(m-1)個像素單元p[(2n-1),x],x≠n的情況,其資料端分別接收控制信號Ctrl_Yx。
在像素陣列中,第(2n)列具有m個像素單元p[(2n),x],x為1至m的任意正整數。所有像素單元的資料端皆連接至資料信號Data_Xn。再者,m個像素單元p[(2n),x]的掃描端接收控制信號Ctrl_Yx。
以n=3、m=3為例來說明之。畫素陣列的第五列(2×3-1=5)中,三個像素單元p51~p53的掃描端接收閘極驅動信號G_3。一個像素單元p53的資料端接收額外資料信號exData,其他二個像素單元p51、p52的資料端分別接收控制信號Ctrl_Y1、控制信號Ctrl_Y2。
畫素陣列的第六列(2×3=6)中,所有三個像素單元p61~p63的資料端接收資料信號Data_X3。三的像素單元p61~p63的掃描端分別接收控制信號Ctrl_Y1~控制信號Ctrl_Y3。
根據本發明的實施例,閘極驅動信號G_1~G_3會依序產生閘極脈波,資料信號Data_X1~Data_X3會產生資料電壓,額外資料信號exData會產生資料電壓,控制信號Ctrl_Y1~Ctrl_Y3會產生閘極脈波與資料電壓的混合信號。換句話說,控制信號Ctrl_Y1~Ctrl_Y3中的閘極脈波可以用來開啟像素單元,而資料電壓可以用來寫入至像素單元。以下詳細說明之。
請參照第2B圖,其所繪示為運用於本發明液晶顯示面板的相關信號示意圖。閘極驅動信號G_1~G_3會依序產生一個閘極脈波,每個閘極脈波的脈寬(pulse width)為T,振幅為vg。
資料信號Data_X1~Data_X3與額外資料信號exData每經過時間長度T後會改變其資料電壓。其中,閘極脈波的振幅vg大於所有的資料電壓。
再者,控制信號Ctrl_Y1~Ctrl_Y3為閘極脈波與資料電壓的混合信號。控制信號Ctrl_Y1與閘極驅動信號G_1會在同一時段產生閘極脈波,控制信號Ctrl_Y1在其他時段則產生資料電壓。同理,控制信號Ctrl_Y2與閘極驅動信號G_2會在同一時段產生閘極脈波,控制信號Ctrl_Y2在其他時段則產生資料電壓。控制信號Ctrl_Y3與閘極驅動信號G_3會在同一時段產生閘極脈波,控制信號Ctrl_Y3在其他時段則產生資料電壓。
請參照第2C圖至第2F圖,其所繪示為將上述信號運用於本發明液晶顯示面板的示意圖。如第2C圖所示,在時間點ta至時間點tb之間,閘極驅動信號G_1與控制信號Ctrl_Y1產生振幅vg的閘極脈波,控制信號Ctrl_Y2、控制信號Ctrl_Y3、資料信號Data_X1~Data_X3與額外資料信號exData上的資料電壓依序為va、vb、vc、vd、ve、vf。
由於閘極驅動信號G_1與控制信號Ctrl_Y1產生閘極脈波,六個像素單元p11~p13、p21、p41、p61開啟,其他像素單元關閉(off)。像素單元p11儲存額外資料信號exData的資料電壓vf、像素單元p12儲存控制信號Ctrl_Y2的資料電壓va、像素單元p13儲存控制信號Ctrl_Y3的資料電壓vb、像素單元p21儲存資料信號Data_X1的資料電壓vc、像素單元p41儲存
資料信號Data_X2的資料電壓vd、像素單元p61儲存資料信號Data_X3的資料電壓ve。
如第2D圖所示,在時間點tb至時間點tc之間,閘極驅動信號G_2與控制信號Ctrl_Y2產生振幅vg的閘極脈波,控制信號Ctrl_Y1、控制信號Ctrl_Y3、資料信號Data_X1~Data_X3與額外資料信號exData的資料電壓依序為vh、vi、vj、vk、vl、vm。
由於閘極驅動信號G_2與控制信號Ctrl_Y2產生閘極脈波,六個像素單元p31~p33、p22、p42、p62開啟,其他像素單元關閉。像素單元p32儲存額外資料信號exData的資料電壓vm、像素單元p31儲存控制信號Ctrl_Y1的資料電壓vh、像素單元p33儲存控制信號Ctrl_Y3的資料電壓vi、像素單元p22儲存資料信號Data_X1的資料電壓vj、像素單元p42儲存資料信號Data_X2的資料電壓vk、像素單元p62儲存資料信號Data_X3的資料電壓vl。
如第2E圖所示,於時間點tc至時間點td之間,閘極驅動信號G_3與控制信號Ctrl_Y3產生振幅vg的閘極脈波,控制信號Ctrl_Y1、控制信號Ctrl_Y2、資料信號Data_X1~Data_X3與額外資料信號exData的資料電壓依序為vn、vo、vp、vr、vr、vs。
由於閘極驅動信號G_3與控制信號Ctrl_Y3產生閘極脈波,六個像素單元p51~p53、p23、p43、p63開啟,其他像
素單元關閉。像素單元p53儲存額外資料信號exData的資料電壓vs、像素單元p51儲存控制信號Ctrl_Y1的資料電壓vn、像素單元p52儲存控制信號Ctrl_Y2的資料電壓vo、像素單元p23儲存資料信號Data_X1的資料電壓vp、像素單元p43儲存資料信號Data_X2的資料電壓vq、像素單元p63儲存資料信號Data_X3的資料電壓vr。
因此,如第2F圖所示,在時間點ta至時間點td後,液晶顯示面板210中的所有像素單元p11~p63皆儲存資料電壓,用以更新液晶顯示面板210的一個畫面(frame)。
再者,於時間點td之後,閘極驅動信號G_1~G_3持續地依序產生閘極脈波,用以繼續更新液晶顯示面板210的一個畫面。由於運作原理相同,不再贅述。
請參照第3圖,其所繪示為運用於本發明液晶顯示裝置的閘極驅動電路以及資料驅動電路,用以達成具備本發明特性的閘極驅動信號G_1~G_3、控制信號Ctrl_Y1~Ctrl_Y3、資料信號Data_X1~Data_X3、額外資料信號exData。
閘極驅動電路310包括串接的閘極脈波產生器311~313,可依序產生閘極驅動信號G_1~G_3。亦即,閘極脈波產生器312根據閘極驅動信號G_1來產生閘極驅動信號G_2,閘極脈波產生器313根據閘極驅動信號G_2來產生閘極驅動信號G_3。
資料驅動電路320包括控制信號產生器351~353以及資料信號產生器324~327。資料信號產生器324~327分別產生資料信號Data_X1~Data_X3以及額外資料信號exData。
再者,控制信號產生器351中包括切換電路sw1與資料信號產生器321。當控制信號產生器351接收到閘極驅動信號G_1中的閘極脈波時,切換電路sw1會在該時段將閘極脈波作為控制信號Ctrl_Y1,而切換電路sw1會在其他時段連接至資料信號產生器321用以將資料電壓作為控制信號Ctrl_Y1。
同理,控制信號產生器352中包括切換電路sw2與資料信號產生器322;控制信號產生器353中包括切換電路sw3與資料信號產生器323。其運作原理相同於控制信號產生器351,不在贅述。
由以上的說明可知,本發明提出一種全新架構的液晶顯示裝置。其液晶顯示面板接收閘極驅動信號G_1~G_3、資料信號Data_X1~Data_X3、額外資料信號exData、與控制信號Ctrl_Y1~Ctrl_Y3。再者,控制信號Ctrl_Y1~Ctrl_Y3中包括閘極脈波以及資料電壓,閘極脈波係用來開啟像素單元,資料電壓用來儲存於液晶電容器與儲存電容器。
再者,利用上述的信號以及像素單元的連接方式,使得液晶顯示面板210可實現同時由上而下以及由左至右的畫素掃描。因此,相較於習知液晶顯示面板僅能進行由上而下畫素掃描,本發明液晶顯示面板210的掃描方式可提供更長的資料電壓
寫入時間,以改善高解析度液晶顯示面板因資料電壓寫入時間不足而造成灰階失真的情況。
綜上所述,雖然本發明已以實施例揭露如上,然其並非用以限定本發明。本發明所屬技術領域中具有通常知識者,在不脫離本發明之精神和範圍內,當可作各種之更動與潤飾。因此,本發明之保護範圍當視後附之申請專利範圍所界定者為準。
Claims (15)
- 一種液晶顯示面板,包括多個像素單元排列成一像素陣列,該液晶顯示面板接收多個資料信號、多個閘極驅動信號、多個控制信號與一額外資料信號,該像素陣列包括:一第(2n-1)列,具有m個像素單元p[(2n-1),x],其中n與m為正整數,且x為1到m的任意正整數;以及一第(2n)列,具有m個像素單元p[(2n),x];其中,該第(2n-1)列中,m個像素單元p[(2n-1),x]的掃描端接收一閘極驅動信號G_n;其中,該第(2n-1)列中,一像素單元p[(2n-1),x]的一資料端接收該額外資料信號,且x等於n;其中,該第(2n-1)列中,其他(m-1)個像素單元p[(2n-1),x]的資料端對應接收第x控制信號,且x不等於n;其中,該第(2n)列中,m個像素單元p[(2n),x]的資料端接收第n資料信號;以及其中,該第(2n)列中,m個像素單元p[(2n),x]的掃描端對應接收第x控制信號。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之液晶顯示面板,其中,每一該像素單元包括:一開關電晶體,具有一閘極極端作為該像素單元的該掃描端,具有一第一汲源端作為該液晶單元的該資料端,以及一第二汲源端;一液晶電容器,具有一第一端連接至開關電晶體的該第二汲源端,以及一第二端;以及一儲存電容器,具有一第一端連接至開關電晶體的該第二汲源端,以及一第二端連接至該液晶電容器的該第二端。
- 如申請專利範圍第2項所述之液晶顯示面板,其中一閘極驅動電路產生該些閘極驅動信號,以及一資料驅動電路產生該些控制信號、該些資料信號與該額外資料信號。
- 如申請專利範圍第3項所述之液晶顯示面板,其中該閘極驅動電路包括:複數個串接的閘極脈波產生器,依序產生該些閘極驅動信號。
- 如申請專利範圍第4項所述之液晶顯示面板,其中該資料料驅動電路包括:複數個控制信號產生器,對應地接收該些閘極驅動信號,並對應地產生該些控制信號;複數個資料信號產生器,產生該些資料信號;以及一額外資料信號產生器,產生該額外資料信號。
- 如申請專利範圍第5項所述之液晶顯示面板,其中每一該控制信號產生器包括一切換電路與一資料信號產生器,當控制信號產生器在一時段接收一閘極脈波時,該切換電路在該時段將該閘極脈波作為該控制信號,且該切換電路在其他時段將該資料信號產生器產生的資料電壓作為該控制信號。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之液晶顯示面板,其中每一該閘極驅動信號會產生閘極脈波,每一該資料信號產生多個資料電壓,該額外資料信號產生多個資料電壓。
- 如申請專利範圍第7項所述之液晶顯示面板,其中該第x控制信號在一時段輸出該第x閘極驅動信號的該閘極脈波,該第x控制信號在其他時段輸出複數個資料電壓。
- 一種液晶顯示裝置,包括多個像素單元排列成一像素陣列;其中,一液晶顯示面板接收多個資料信號、多個閘極驅動信號、多個控制信號與一額外資料信號;每一該閘極驅動信號中包括一閘極脈波;每一該資料信號中包括資料電壓;該額外資料信號中包括資料電壓;以及每一該控制信號中包括一閘極脈波以及資料電壓。
- 如申請專利範圍第9項所述之液晶顯示裝置,其中該像素陣列包括:一第(2n-1)列,具有m個像素單元p[(2n-1),x],其中n與m為正整數,且x為1到m的任意正整數;以及一第(2n)列,具有m個像素單元p[(2n),x];其中,該第(2n-1)列中,m個像素單元p[(2n-1),x]的掃描端接收一閘極驅動信號G_n;其中,該第(2n-1)列中,一像素單元p[(2n-1),x]的一資料端接收該額外資料信號,且x等於n;其中,該第(2n-1)列中,其他(m-1)個像素單元p[(2n-1),x]的資料端對應接收第x控制信號,且x不等於n;其中,該第(2n)列中,m個像素單元p[(2n),x]的資料端接收第n資料信號;以及其中,該第(2n)列中,m個像素單元p[(2n),x]的掃描端對應接收第x控制信號。
- 如申請專利範圍第10項所述之液晶顯示裝置,其中,每一該像素單元包括:一開關電晶體,具有一閘極極端作為該像素單元的該掃描端,具有一第一汲源端作為該液晶單元的該資料端,以及一第二汲源端;一液晶電容器,具有一第一端連接至開關電晶體的該第二汲源端,以及一第二端;以及一儲存電容器,具有一第一端連接至開關電晶體的該第二汲源端,以及一第二端連接至該液晶電容器的該第二端。
- 如申請專利範圍第9項所述之液晶顯示裝置,其中一閘極驅動電路產生該些閘極驅動信號,以及一資料驅動電路產生該些控制信號、該些資料信號與該額外資料信號。
- 如申請專利範圍第12項所述之液晶顯示裝置,其中該閘極驅動電路包括:複數個串接的閘極脈波產生器,依序產生該些閘極驅動信號。
- 如申請專利範圍第13項所述之液晶顯示裝置,其中該資料驅動電路包括:複數個控制信號產生器,對應地接收該些閘極驅動信號,並對應地產生該些控制信號;複數個資料信號產生器,產生該些資料信號;以及一額外資料信號產生器,產生該額外資料信號。
- 如申請專利範圍第14項所述之液晶顯示裝置,其中每一該控制信號產生器包括一切換電路與一資料信號產生器,當控制信號產生器在一時段接收一閘極脈波時,該切換電路在該時段將該閘極脈波作為該控制信號,且該切換電路在其他時段將該資料信號產生器產生的資料電壓作為該控制信號。
