Description

用於插線面板之裝置
本發明係關於一種用於一插線面板之裝置,且特定言之係關於一種用於掃描插線面板之連接埠及啟動插線面板之指示器之至少一者之裝置。
插線面板通常係採用於計算網絡中以與插線電纜介接,該等插線電纜將資料自一位置攜載至另一位置。在某些應用中,例如在大資料中心中,插線電纜及對應插線面板之數目可變得極大且難以維護及管理。
用於管理插線電纜連接之一大網絡之一已知系統包括具有掃描電子器件之一插線面板,該等掃描電子器件用於判定哪些插線面板之插座具有插入其等之插線電纜。掃描電子器件可具有用於將有關連接之資訊饋送回至一電腦之一通信介面。舉例而言,參考US 7,160,143。
用於管理插線電纜連接之一大網絡之另一已知系統包括具有用於導引工作於插線面板連接之一技術人員之導引電子器件之一插線面板。導引電子器件可包括照亮上述特定插線面板插座以指示待插入/移除各種插線電纜之插座之燈。用於導引電子器件之控制資訊可經由到達一電腦之一通信介面接收。此等導引功能係實施於(例如)可自RiT Technologies Ltd購得之PatchView IIM產品。
此掃描電子器件及導引電子器件之缺點之一者係其通常減少插線面板之預期壽命,因為與插線面板之剩餘電/實 體元件相比其可更易於故障。
解決此問題之一方法係將掃描及導引電子器件整合至一中心分析器單元中,且自各插線面板插座將至少一導體繞線回至中心分析器單元。然而,此導致大數目之導體自插線面板待繞線且插入分析器單元中,且若分析器中之掃描或導引電子器件之一部分故障,則通常需替換整個分析器。
插線面板及分析器單元之替換亦可導致在確保自舊插線面板/分析器移除之插線電纜皆置入替換插線面板/分析器之正確插座中之顯著難度。
因此,本發明之一目的係對已知插線面板掃描及/或導引系統加以改良。
根據本發明之一態樣,提供一種用於可移除地連接至一插線面板之插拔式模組化裝置,該插拔式模組化裝置包括:-一電連接器,其用於與該插線面板之一對應電連接器相配接;及-用於掃描該插線面板之連接埠之掃描電子器件及用於啟動該插線面板之指示器之導引電子器件之至少一者。
可插入或拔出各種插線面板以提供掃描及/或導引功能之一插拔式模組化裝置之用途意謂掃描或導引電子器件之故障無需大數目之電纜之移除及替換。可簡單地將插拔式模組化裝置拔出插線面板且用另一替換插拔式模組化裝置 替換。
掃描功能性通常包括掃描插線面板之連接埠以判定哪些連接埠具有連接至其等之插線電纜,且導引功能性通常包括啟動插線面板之各種指示器以向一技術人員指示哪些連接埠應具有自其等連接/斷接之插線電纜。
有利地,插拔式模組化裝置可包括一輸出連接器,其用於將掃描結果發送至一評估單元及/或自該評估單元接收導引資訊。
此外,插拔式模組化裝置之輸出連接器可將電力攜載至插拔式模組化裝置以避免加載可用於插線面板處之(若干)電源。連接器可包括用於攜載串列資料之導體,藉此減少插拔式模組化裝置與評估單元之間所需之導體之數目。減少之導體之數目可使更大數目之插拔式模組化裝置連接至評估單元。
亦可設想用於在插拔式模組化裝置與一中心電腦之間攜載資料之交替連接方法,例如使用無線技術。
根據本發明之一第二態樣。提供一種電纜管理系統,其包括第一態樣之插拔式模組化裝置之至少二者及藉由電連接器連接至該等插拔式模組之各自插線面板。
電纜管理系統可進一步包括具有複數個連接器之一評估單元,各連接器經由一串列電纜電連接至一各自插拔式模組化裝置之輸出連接器。
有利地,評估單元可自插拔式模組化裝置接收掃描結果及/或將導引資訊發送至插拔式模組化裝置。評估單元可 維護存在於網絡中之連接之一日誌且充當用於管理網絡之一中心點。替代地,評估單元可簡單地核對掃描結果且接著將其等轉送至一電腦,且/或自一電腦接收導引資訊及將其配送至適當插拔式模組。
現將參考隨附圖式描述本發明之實施例。
圖1展示如可用於一電纜管理系統之一已知插線面板1之一示意圖。插線面板1具有用於安裝至一架構之兩個安裝托架2,且具有用於連接至插線電纜之二十四個RJ45連接器3。插線面板進一步包括一插座4,該插座4包括自24個連接器3之各者繞線之至少24個感測導體。插座4經由一電纜連接至一中心分析器單元(未展示於圖中)。中心分析器單元包括掃描電子器件,其經由插座4掃描RJ45連接器3之各者以判定哪些連接器3具有連接至其等之插線電纜。
中心分析器單元亦係連接至來自其他類似插線面板之其他類似電纜,且維護所有插線面板之連接器之連接狀態之一資料庫(或係連接至基於來自中心分析器單元之資訊維護一資料庫之另一計算裝置)。
插座4亦可包含連接至鄰近連接器3之各者之24個各自LED燈之另一組導體。可藉由中心分析器單元驅動LED以向一技術人員指示哪些連接器3將具有自其等插入或拔出之電纜。
圖2展示根據本發明之一實施例之一插拔式模組化裝置5之一圖。插拔式模組化裝置5包括用於與圖1之插線面板之 24個導體插座4相配接之一電連接器10。插拔式模組化裝置5包括用於判定哪些連接器3具有連接至其等之插線電纜之掃描電子器件20。掃描電子器件20可係類似於已知中心分析器單元中之掃描電子器件,且檢查來自插座4之感測導體之各者以產生一組指定哪些插座具有及無連接至其等之插線電纜之結果。
插拔式模組5進一步包括用於經由一RJ45連接器35傳輸有關來自掃描電子器件之掃描結果之串列資料之一收發器30。插拔式模組5亦包括導引電子器件,該導引電子器件包含用於驅動與插線面板之24個各自連接器3關聯之24個LED之LED驅動器40。收發器30經由連接器35接收指定應該亮起哪些LED之導引資訊,且導引電子器件使用該資訊以點亮所需LED。
在此實施例中,插拔式模組包含掃描及導引電子器件二者,然而在交替實施例中僅可實施此兩種可能性之一者。
圖3之示意圖展示當藉由使連接器10與插座4相配接而附接至插線面板1時之插拔式模組化裝置5。一串列電纜50係自插拔式模組化裝置5之RJ45連接器35連接至一中心評估單元60。串列電纜在插拔式模組化裝置5與評估單元60之間攜載掃描結果及導引資訊之至少一者,且可進一步提供用於自評估單元60供電給插拔式模組化裝置5之一電力供應器。評估單元60亦可接收來自另外插拔式模組且關聯插線面板之串列電纜。
評估單元60係類似於已知分析器單元,但其並非必須包 含掃描及/或導引電子器件,因為其等現在存在於插拔式模組中。此外,評估單元僅需要一串列RJ45連接器以服務一整個具有24個插座之插線面板,而非具有至少24個導體(用於直接連接至插線面板之感測導體)之一更大連接器。
當一插拔式模組化裝置之掃描及/或導引電子器件故障時,可簡單地藉由另一插拔式模組化裝置替換該插拔式模組化裝置,無需斷接及重新連接大數目之電纜。
熟習此項技術者亦將明白落入隨附申請專利範圍之範疇內之許多其他實施例。

Claims (12)

  1. 一種電纜管理系統,包括:一插線面板,包括LEDs;一插拔式模組化裝置,用於可移除地連接至該插線面板,該插拔式模組化裝置包含一電連接器,其用於將該插拔式模組化裝置與該插線面板之一對應電連接器相配接;掃描電子器件,配置在該插拔式模組化裝置上,用於掃描該插線面板之連接埠;導引電子器件用於啟動該插線面板之LEDs,該導引電子器件配置在該插拔式模組化裝置;一輸出連接器,配置在該插拔式模組化裝置,該輸出連接器包括電力導體,用於供電給該插拔式模組裝置,該輸出連接器用於以下之至少一者:將掃描結果自該掃描電子器件發送至一評估單元;及自該評估單元接收導引資訊;及一收發器,用於經由該輸出連接器發送及接收串列資料,該收發器連接至掃描電子器件及導引電子器件。
  2. 如請求項1之電纜管理系統,進一步包括:前述請求項1之該等插拔式模組化裝置之至少兩者;及藉由該等電連接器連接至該等插拔式模組之各自插線面板。
  3. 如請求項2之電纜管理系統,其進一步包括: 一評估單元,其具有複數個連接器,該複數個連接器之各者經由一串列電纜電連接至一各自插拔式模組化裝置之該輸出連接器。
  4. 一種電纜管理系統,包括:一插線面板,界定複數埠及一插座,該插線面板亦包括複數個感測導體,每一感測導體連接該複數埠之一至該插座;一插拔式模組化裝置,包括一第一連接器及一第二連接器,該第一連接器插接至該插座,該第二連接器在該第一連接器插接至該插座時可被接近,該插拔式模組化裝置包括掃描電子器件及一收發器以發送由該掃描電子器件獲得之資料至該第二連接器。
  5. 如請求項4之電纜管理系統,進一步包括一資料電纜電連接至該插拔式模組化裝置之第二連接器。
  6. 如請求項5之電纜管理系統,進一步包括一中心評估單元電連接至該資料電纜。
  7. 如請求項6之電纜管理系統,其中該中心評估單元未包括掃描電子器件。
  8. 如請求項4之電纜管理系統,其中該插線面板包括一各自LED燈對應至每一埠,且該插拔式模組化裝置包括導引電子器件。
  9. 如請求項8之電纜管理系統,進一步包括一資料電纜電連接至該插拔式模組化裝置之第二連接器。
  10. 如請求項9之電纜管理系統,進一步包括一中心評估單 元電連接至該資料電纜。
  11. 如請求項10之電纜管理系統,其中該中心評估單元未包括掃描電子器件。
  12. 如請求項4之電纜管理系統,其中當掃描電子器件及/或導引電子器件故障時,該插拔式模組化裝置可由另一插拔式模組化裝置替換而無需斷接及重新連接大數目之電纜。
