Abstract

The present invention provides a surface film of thin plastic shell member composite and an application method thereof. The surface film sequentially comprises, from outside to inside, an outer decoration layer formed of a cloth layer made of natural or artificial fibers, or a leather layer made of synthetic leather, or a carbon fiber layer or a glass fiber layer, having a thickness of 0.2-0.6 mm; a middle adsorption heat-insulation layer formed of polyester fiber (Tetoron), Nylon, or mix-spinning materials, having a thickness of 0.2-0.5 mm; and an inner adhering layer made of a thermoplastic rubber film synthesized by butyl benzene block copolymer and hydrocarbon petroleum resin with a thickness of 40-60 &mgr;m (0.04-0.06 mm). The layers are sequentially laminated and are pressed to form a thin film. In an application, one of the surface films can be selected and determined according to the difference of the outer decoration layer. Then, the surface film is laid flat in a mold cavity of an injection mold. A thin plastic shell member is then attached to the inner adhering layer of the surface film so as to produce a composite comprising the surface film and the thin plastic shell member, wherein the thin plastic shell member can be thermally melted and bonded to the inner adhering layer integrally by the injection pressure and temperature of the injected material during the injection-molding so as to force a part of the inner adhering layer of about 10-20% thickness, namely 4-12 &mgr;m, to permeate into the existing pores in the middle adsorption heat-insulation layer to effectively distribute the injection pressure and temperature of the injected material and to force the surface film to form a smooth state by the flowing of the injected material. Thus, the bonding strength and the agglomeration between the surface film and the thin plastic shell member are increased for enhancing the quality and simplifying the manufacturing process.
