Abstract

An extension tool (10) is provided which includes a housing (11) which is generally elongate and has opposite first and second ends (12, 13). First and second driving arrangements (20, 21) are rotatably mounted relative to the housing. Each driving arrangement includes an engagement element (23, 32, 33) which is operative to couple that driving arrangement to either a drive or driven means. A gearing arrangement (24) is disposed within the housing and operative to impart rotation to either of the driving arrangements in response to rotation of the other driving arrangements. The tool further includes a plurality of coupling elements (30, 31) which are connected to or integrally formed with the housing. Each of the coupling elements are arranged to releasably mount a support arm (100) to the housing so that the or each support arm is able to be used to resist torque loading applied to the housing in operation of the tool.
