Abstract

A method and device for securing the seem ends by drawing in the thread chain on single-needle and double-needle overcast sewing machines are disclosed. According to the invention, a thread puller is pushed through between the underside of the sewing material and the under shuttle threads, subsequently the thread chain at the seem end is threaded through the eye located at the tip of the thread puller, and the thread puller is drawn back into its initial position. At the same time, the thread chain at the seem end is drawn in between the sewing material and the shuttle thread group.
