Abstract
Three cell lines derived from pupal ovaries of the tobacco cutworm, Spodoptera litura, were designated SL1A, SL7A, and SL7B. The optimal cultural condition of those cells were cultured with TNM-FH medium supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum in 28C. Using isozyme analysis, karyotype analysis, and growth curve could characterized those three cell lines differ to other insect cell lines. Three cell lines show its susceptible to SINPV and AcNPV, so they were not only provided to study in vitro culture of SINPV, but also to be used in the production of recombinant protein AcNPV expression system.
