Abstract

A kind of absorbable composite materials for using in the treatment of periodontal disease, it includes 10% to 95% of lollagen matrix reinforced with a layer of a bioabsorbable polymer by weight , and comprises by weight 0.01% to 10% of chemotherapeutic agent is dispersed in the composite material, the layer of bioabsorbable polymer is preferably woven, non woven or knitted mesh layer of a synthetic bioabsorbable polymer such as polylactic/polyglycolic acid copolymer, or oxidised regenerated cellulose, and chemotherapeutic agent is antibiotic, anaesthetic, antiseptic or antiinflammatory.
