Abstract

A process for spraying an aqueous sludge onto a wall (2, 27) to form a coating (3, 3a, 28); in which a dry, predetermined composition comprising inorganic particles, a surface-active agent and a binder is mixed with water to prepare the aqueous sludge, and the aqueous sludge is then pumped through a pipe (12) until it reaches a nozzle (13) into which pressurized air is injected so as to spray the aqueous sludge; which is characterized in that air is further injected into the pipe (12) at a point located after the pump (11) and before the nozzle (13) in order to foam the surface-active agent, and the flow rate of the air injected is adjusted so as to foam the surface-active agent by different amounts and thus vary the porosity of the coating which is sprayed.
