Abstract

A surface-processed composite flame-retardant powder characterized in comprising (a) from 10 to 90% by weight of ammonium polyphosphate, (b) from 3 to 40% by weight of a polyol compound, (c) from 5 to 60% by weight of a nitrogen-containing organic compound, and (d) from 0.5 to 50% by weight of an oxide of an element of the group II, III or IV of the periodic table, the surface of each powder being surface-processed with a high-molecular weight surface processing agent having a basic functional group and/or a neutral functional group with a number average molecular weight of 1,000~8,000.
