A method to adjust a computer unit on the type of a connected picture-output-device, which comprises inquiring the picture-output-device according to the type of the picture-output-device and carrying out a response from the picture-output-device side on the type of the identification information to start the beginning phase of a computer operation; which is characterized in that: identification informations specific to a TV need to be sent back when inquiring the computer unit; the operating system of the computer unit (PC), when identifying the identification informations specific to a TV, will drive the image software drivers belonged thereto such that the computer unit (PC) can send out signals specific to the TV in order to control the picture-output-device connected thereto.
