Abstract

A method of jointing an optical fiber with a substrate, which is characterized in comprising the following steps: (1) providing a substrate having an adhesive surface so that an optical fiber can be applied onto the surface; (2) providing an optical supply source so that an optical fiber can be drawn therefrom as required; (3) feeding an optical fiber from the supply source thereby controlling a partial direction of the fiber; (4) enabling the fiber having a portion which was guided for a distance without contacting the surface of the substrate; and (5) pressing a portion of the fiber located behind that portion of distance on the surface of the substrate.
