Abstract

A PCMCIA network card, especially one type which could program card information structure into EEPROM in network card connecting with network controller, in which the network controller is connecting with buffer memory and EEPROM independently and connecting with host via bus, is claimed. The network controller comprises EEPROM address/control signal generator, EEPROM input data buffer and card information structure memory address converter, in which: the card information structure memory address converter is connecting with host address bus, and connecting with buffer memory via buffer memory bus, for converting memory address of card information structure into memory position of buffer memory; the EEPROM address/control signal generator is connecting with EEPROM to receive generated control signal and transmit generated address signal to buffer memory via buffer memory address bus; the EEPROM input data buffer is connecting with EEPROM, which could make data stored in EEPROM write into buffer memory via buffer memory data bus; on application network controller reads card information structure from EEPROM, and load into buffer memory, and when the host reads card information structure, network controller must convert original card information address into corresponding buffer memory address from which card information structrue is got.
