Abstract
A polyimide-ester soluble in amine and phenolic solvents, the reactants of the polyimide-ester comprises: (a) an aromatic diacid which is a mixture of the isophthalic acid and tetraphthalic acid, in which the molar ratio of the mixture is 1:0 to 0:1 and the aromatic diacid is 0 to 49 mole percent of the total reactants; (b) 1 to 50 mole percent of dimide diacid, which is selected from the group comprising (see claim 1) in which X is selected from O, S, SO2, CO, and CH2; and (c) 0 to 50 mole percent of aromatic diol, which is selected from the group comprising (see claim 1) and mixtures of hydroquinone and resorcinol, in which Y is selected from C(CH3)2, SO2 and S; in which the molar ratio of sum of moles of the diacid and the dimide diacid to the aromatic diol is 0.9:1 to 1.1:1.
