Abstract

A kind of electric discharging control method for wire cutting machineconsists of the following procedures: 1. applying a detecting voltage between the wire electrode and part 2. after a period of time, detecting the voltage between the wire electrodeand part. If the detected voltage is greater than the preset referenceone, which means they keeps an appropriate distance, then next time thedischarging is NORMAL. If the detected voltage is less than the presetreference one, which means they keeps an very close distance, then nexttime the discharging is ARC; 3. if the voltage between the wire electrode and part falls down, whichmeans the discharging has begun, then apply it with different ON timedepending the conditions detected above; 4. after discharging, then applying it with different OFF time depending onthe conditions between the electrodes to restore isolation; 5. if the voltage between the wire electrode and part is detected less thanthe preset reference one in continuously several times, which means thedistance between the electrodes is too close so that it can be viewed asSHORT; 6. until next time the ignition voltage is on, if the detected dischargingis still ARC, then it is viewed as SHORT; if the detected discharging isNORMAL, then the SHORT state is canceled.
