Abstract

An air purifier is provided capable of efficiently circulating air while sufficiently providing an air purifying capability. The air purifier 1 includes a casing 2, an inlet 4, an outlet 5, a blowing device 6, a purification device 8, a movable louver 9, a horizontal rotation mechanism 15, a sensor portion 21, a control device 23, or the like. The control device 23 uses an infrared sensor 40 in the sensor portion 21 to detect a temperature difference between a floor and a ceiling. When the temperature difference between the floor and the ceiling is larger than a preset reference value, an amount of air blowing obliquely upward is increased as compared to when the temperature difference is smaller than the reference value. This can agitate air near the ceiling and efficiently circulate air between the ceiling and the floor.
