Abstract

The present invention provides an apparatus, computer program product and computer readable medium using an audio signal for detection and determination of a narrowing condition of a fluid pipe. An audio signal generated by fluid flowing in a selected pipe is obtained and transformed into a cochlear spectrogram via an auditory-based cochlear transform. The cochlear spectrogram is then transformed into an auditory spectrum flux and an auditory spectral centroid, each a one-dimensional graph, based on both of which, a two-dimensional distribution graph is rendered. Thereafter, the narrowing condition of the selected pipe is determined based on the data distribution in the two-dimensional distribution graph. For instance, the data distribution is compared to a benchmark data distribution in a two-dimensional distribution graph generated for fluid flowing in a normal pipe.
