Abstract

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a display element sealant that is capable of suppressing outgassing and exhibits superior adhesiveness, transparency, and reliability in high-temperature, high-humidity environments. The invention is a sealant for a display element containing a polythiol monomer having at least two thiol groups in each molecule, a polyene monomer having at least two carbon-carbon double bonds in each molecule, and a polymerization initiator, said sealant containing a compound having a glycoluril skeleton and a reactive functional group capable of reacting with the polythiol monomer and/or the polyene monomer.
