Abstract

A facemask is disclosed that can be reliable secured to a wearer's face with a robust, reliable skin-friendly adhesive, obviating the need for straps or other connection to the wearer's ears. The facemask includes one or more contact sheets and a filtering web arranged on or within the contact sheet(s). The adhesive is disposed about the periphery of the face contacting cover sheet and/or filtering web and ensures an adequate seal on the mask perimeter when the mask is donned.
