Description

Antifogging agent for cyclic olefin resin, cyclic olefin resin composition containing the antifogging agent, and optical material and optical member using the same

The present invention relates to an antifogging agent for a cyclic olefin resin, a cyclic olefin resin composition containing the antifogging agent, and an optical material and an optical member using the composition.

The cyclic olefin resin is used in an optical material or the like because it is excellent in transparency, heat resistance, and the like. On the other hand, when a molded article containing a cyclic olefin-based resin is irradiated with visible light in a hot humid environment, for example, turbidity may occur on the surface of the molded article, and transparency may be impaired.

For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a composition in which 100 parts by weight of a cyclic olefin resin and 2 to 40 parts by weight of a condensed phosphate are blended, and the objective is to impart flame retardancy which does not impair the transparency of the cyclic olefin resin. .

[Patent Literature]

[Patent Document 1] Japanese Patent Laid-Open Publication No. 2006-328174

However, in the composition described in Patent Document 1, since the content of the condensed phosphate in the composition is high, the cyclic olefin resin is impaired. Other than the properties of the intrinsic property, in particular, the heat resistance, and the like, and the possibility that the cyclic olefin resin is yellowed or the like in a hot environment. Further, in the composition described in Patent Document 1, since the content of the condensed phosphate in the composition is high, the condensed phosphate is not sufficiently dissolved in the cyclic olefin resin, and phase separation may occur. Further, particularly in the case of wet heat or the like, there is a possibility that the phosphorus compound is eluted from the molded article or the like, and the transparency of the molded article obtained from the composition is lowered. In addition, since the molecular weight of the condensed phosphate is generally smaller than that of the cyclic olefin resin, when the condensed phosphate has an excessive amount in the composition, the Tg, the melt viscosity, and the heat resistance of the cyclic olefin resin are present. The possibility of low resilience and so on.

On the other hand, in the subject of Patent Document 1, in order to impart flame retardancy to the cyclic olefin resin, the content of the condensed phosphate cannot be reduced. Therefore, in Patent Document 1, it is difficult to obtain a composition which does not impair the transparency and heat resistance of the cyclic olefin resin.

The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and an object of the invention is to provide a cyclic olefin resin composition which does not impair transparency and heat resistance of a cyclic olefin resin, and an optical material and an optical component using the composition. .

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail. Further, the present invention is not limited by the following embodiments.

Antifogging agent for cyclic olefin resin]

The antifogging agent for cyclic olefin resin of the present invention (hereinafter also referred to as "antifogging agent of the present invention") is composed of a condensed phosphate. In this manual, the so-called "anti- The term "opaque turbidity" means preventing the transparency of the cyclic olefin-based resin from being formed by the molding process, and preventing the interior of the molded body from becoming cloudy due to environmental changes in which the molded body is exposed, and the transparency of the molded body is lowered. Causes "turbidity".

In the condensed phosphate ester, a flame retardant which imparts flame retardancy to a cyclic olefin resin is used. However, the antifogging agent of the present invention does not have a function of imparting flame retardancy to the cyclic olefin resin. The antifogging agent of the present invention can be clearly distinguished from the conventional flame retardant containing a condensed phosphate ester in that it has a function of maintaining transparency and heat resistance of the cyclic olefin resin. Specifically, the use of the condensed phosphate ester as an antifogging agent and the use of the condensed phosphate ester as a flame retardant are as follows, and the amount of the condensed phosphate ester used is different.

The condensed phosphate ester of the present invention is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include a condensed phosphate ester having an aromatic ring. Compared with the phosphorus compound containing a trivalent phosphorus atom, the phosphorus atom in the condensed phosphate has a pentavalent oxidation, which has less influence on the phosphorus atom, and can suppress discoloration such as yellowing in a hot environment. The condensed phosphate ester may be used singly or in combination of two or more.

For example, as a structure of a preferred condensed phosphate ester of the present invention, a compound represented by the following formula (I):

(In the formula (I), R 1 , R 2 and R 4 to R 6 each independently represent an aryl group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms, and R 3 represents an extended aryl group having 6 to 25 carbon atoms, and the n system represents An integer from 0 to 3.)

In the general formula (I), examples of the aryl group represented by R 1 , R 2 and R 4 to R 6 include a phenyl group, a naphthyl group, and a biphenylene group. The aryl group may have an alkyl group such as a methyl group or an ethyl group as a substituent. Examples of the extended aryl group represented by R 3 include a stretched phenyl group, an extended naphthyl group, a stretched biphenyl group, and a bisphenol residue.

As the compound represented by the formula (I), those skilled in the art can be used. For example, 1,3 phenyl bis(diphenyl phosphate), 1,3 phenyl bis(di-4-methylphenyl phosphate), 1,3 phenyl bis(phosphoric acid di-2) , 6-xylylene ester), 1,4-phenylphenyl bis(diphenyl phosphate), 1,4-phenylphenylbis(di-2,6-xylylene phosphate), 4,4'-biphenyl double ( Diphenyl phosphate), 4,4' extended biphenyl bis(phosphoric acid di-2,6-dimethylate); hydroquinone phosphates, biphenol phosphates and bisphenol-A corresponding to phosphates Phosphates and the like. These compounds may be used alone or in combination of two or more.

Among the compounds represented by the formula (I), the compound represented by the following formula (II) (1, 3) can be particularly effectively maintained in terms of transparency and heat resistance of the cyclic olefin resin. Phenyl bis(di-2,6-xylylene phosphate), resorcinol bis(phosphoric acid di-2,6-dimethylate), or a compound represented by the following formula (IV) (4,4' It is especially good to extend biphenyl bis(di-2,6-xylylene phosphate):

The anti-fogging agent of the present invention is contained in a cyclic olefin-based resin composition containing a cyclic olefin-based resin (hereinafter, a cyclic olefin-based resin composition containing the anti-fogging agent of the present invention is also referred to as "the present invention. By this, since the turbidity of the cyclic olefin resin and the heat resistance of the cyclic olefin resin can be suppressed, the transparency and heat resistance of the molded article obtained from the cyclic olefin resin composition can be maintained.

In the present invention, "the transparency of the molded article obtained from the cyclic olefin-based resin composition" is obtained by referring to the composition of the present invention. When the obtained molded body was subjected to a visible light irradiation test in the hot and humid environment disclosed in the examples, it was substantially impossible to observe turbidity in the molded body after the test.

In the present invention, the "heat resistance of the molded article obtained from the composition of the cyclic olefin resin" is referred to as the Tg of the molded article obtained from the composition of the present invention, which is close to the cyclic olefin resin. When the heat resistance test (110 ° C, 1000 hours) was carried out under temperature conditions, the yellowness of the molded body after the heat resistance test (DIN 6167) was subtracted from the yellowness of the molded body before the heat resistance test (also referred to as " ΔYI") is less than 1. When ΔYI is less than 1, it is shown that yellowing of the molded body can be suppressed substantially even in a hot environment.

The amount of the antifogging agent of the present invention contained in the composition of the present invention is 0.05 parts by mass or more and 1 part by mass or less based on 100 parts by mass of the cyclic olefin resin. The amount of the anti-fogging agent of the present invention is 0.05 parts by mass or more, preferably 0.08 parts by mass or more, and more preferably 0.1 part by mass or more, based on 100 parts by mass of the cyclic olefin resin, and the cyclic olefin resin can be prevented. It is turbid and does not easily damage transparency. The amount of the antifogging agent of the present invention is 1 part by mass or less, preferably 0.8 part by mass or less, more preferably 0.5 part by mass or less, based on 100 parts by mass of the cyclic olefin resin, and the cyclic olefin resin is not easily damaged. Transparency and heat resistance.

When the antifogging agent of the present invention is more than 1 part by mass (for example, 2 parts by mass or more) based on 100 parts by mass of the cyclic olefin resin, the flame retardancy can be imparted to the cyclic olefin resin, but the cyclic olefin resin is impaired. The heat resistance cannot achieve the effect of using the antifogging agent of the present invention. Further, in such a blending amount, the condensed phosphate ester is not sufficiently dissolved in the cyclic olefin resin to cause phase separation, and in particular, the phosphorus compound is eluted from the molded article or the like under moist heat conditions, resulting in a composition. The transparency of the molded body obtained by the object is likely to be low. Further, the polymer properties (Tg, melt viscosity, heat resistance, toughness, and the like) of the cyclic olefin resin may be lowered.

The composition of the present invention may further contain a conventional additive (antioxidant, hindered amine light stabilizer, ultraviolet light absorber, flame retardant, sulfur stabilizer, metal) without impairing the object of the present invention. Extractant, etc.). The type and amount of the additive in the cyclic olefin resin composition can be appropriately adjusted in accordance with the desired effect.

(Method for Producing Cyclic Olefin Resin Composition)

The method for producing the cyclic olefin resin composition of the present invention is not particularly limited, and a conventional method can be employed. For example, a method of melt-kneading a cyclic olefin-based resin, an anti-fogging agent for a cyclic olefin-based resin, or a resin to be formulated, if necessary, in a batch or a batch may be mentioned. Examples of the method of melt-kneading include blending a resin composition, followed by melt-kneading using a uniaxial or biaxial screw extruder, a Banbury mixer, a roll mill, various kneaders, and the like. Method, etc. The temperature at the temperature of the melt-kneading is not particularly limited as long as it is melted by a cyclic olefin-based resin, a cyclic olefin-based resin anti-fogging agent, and a resin blended as necessary, and is usually 160° C. to 350° C. Preferably, it is carried out at a temperature ranging from 180 ° C to 300 ° C.

For example, the components constituting the composition of the present invention may be mixed at a time to prepare the composition of the present invention. Alternatively, a composition comprising the cyclic olefin resin and the antifogging agent of the present invention may be mixed with a matrix resin containing a cyclic olefin resin or the like to prepare the composition of the present invention. In order to obtain a composition having high heat resistance and further inhibiting yellowing, the composition of the present invention is prepared by using a master batch. good.

The master batch which can be used in the present invention is not particularly limited as long as it contains a higher concentration of the antifogging agent than the concentration of the antifogging agent in the final cyclic olefin resin composition to be obtained. The masterbatch which can be used in the present invention contains, for example, 100 parts by mass of a cyclic olefin resin and 0.5 to 10 parts by mass of the antifogging agent of the present invention.

Optical materials and optical components]

Since the cyclic olefin resin composition of the present invention does not impair the transparency and heat resistance of the cyclic olefin resin, it can be suitably used as an optical material. Moreover, by molding the composition of the present invention and the optical material of the present invention, an optical member having excellent transparency and heat resistance can be obtained. Examples of the optical member include a light guide plate, a lens, and a lamp cover.

Examples]

Hereinafter, the present invention will be specifically described by showing examples, but the present invention is not limited by the examples.

The cyclic olefin resin is a trade name: TOPAS (registered trademark) 5013L-10 (manufactured by TOPAS Advanced Polymers Co., Ltd., melt viscosity: 56 Pa.s, Tg 134 ° C). The cyclic olefin resin and various phosphorus compounds were used in the ratios shown in Table 1 and melt-kneaded at a cylinder temperature of 260 ° C using a biaxial extruder (manufactured by Nippon Steel Co., Ltd., trade name: TEX30). The pellets were pelletized to obtain cyclic olefin resin compositions of the examples and the comparative examples. Further, in Comparative Example 1, only the cyclic olefin resin was melt-extruded using a twin-screw extruder. In Comparative Example 9, a cyclic olefin resin which was not melt-kneaded was injection molded.

Subsequently, by using the obtained pellets and using an injection molding machine (manufactured by Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd., trade name: SE75D), it was molded into a 70 mm × 70 mm under the conditions of a cylinder temperature of 270 ° C and a mold temperature of 115 ° C. A 2 mm flat plate was used to obtain a test piece, and the following test was provided.

The melt viscosity of the cyclic olefin resin was measured in accordance with ISO 11443 at 260 ° C and a shear rate of 1216 / sec. In addition, the glass transition point (Tg) of the cyclic olefin resin is measured in accordance with the DSC method (method described in JIS K7111) at a temperature increase rate of 10 ° C /min.

In addition, in the table 1, the "full amount of the composite" is a component of the TOPAS5013L-10 which is a cyclic olefin resin and the components described in Table 1 by a biaxial extruder, and is melt-kneaded and pelletized. After the formation, the test piece was formed by injection molding. In addition, the "masterbatch" refers to a masterbatch prepared from a cyclic olefin-based resin and the components described in Table 1, and the master batch is obtained by adding the phosphorus concentration to the amount shown in Table 1. After the pellet was blended and diluted with a cyclic olefin resin, it was molded into a test piece. The masterbatch used in the "masterbatch" is a range of from 2 parts by mass to 8 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the cyclic olefin-based resin, as shown in Table 1. Phosphorus compound. The term "valent valence of phosphorus" refers to the valence of a phosphorus atom in various phosphorus compounds. The "phosphor addition amount with respect to the cyclic olefin resin" means the addition amount of each phosphorus compound with respect to the total cyclic olefin resin to be used.

[LED試驗(在濕熱環境下之可見光照射試驗)] [LED test (visible light irradiation test in humid heat environment)]

For each test piece, a test piece for LED test of 40 mm × 70 mm × 2 mm was obtained from the end portion on the counter gate side to a position of 40 mm. A guide plate of the LED (light beam 20lm) is mounted on the center portion of the end portion of the counter gate side (70 mm from the gate side). Subsequently, the LED test light is directly irradiated with the LED as a light source, and after being exposed to the wet heat bath for one week at 60 ° C × 90% humidity, the LED is turned off, and then at 70 ° C After the water vapor in the constant temperature bath was removed, the LED test piece was recovered. Test strips for each LED test after LED test, irradiated with halogen bulbs (12V100W HAL-L, OLYMPUS The company made a light as a light source, and visually observed the turbidity of each test piece and judged according to the following criteria. The results are shown in the "Hall determination after LED irradiation" item in Table 2.

○: No turbidity occurred in the test piece due to LED irradiation.

×: The test piece was turbid due to LED irradiation.

Heat resistance test (110 ° C, 1000 hours) was performed for each test piece. The yellowness of each test piece before and after the heat resistance test (DIN 6167) was measured using a color difference meter color-sphere manufactured by YKB-Gardnar GmbH. The results are shown in the item "YI value after heat resistance test" in Table 2. In Table 2, the "initial YI" indicates the yellowness of each test piece before the heat resistance test. In addition, "△YI" means the value of the yellowness of each test piece after the heat resistance test, and the yellowness of each test piece before the heat resistance test was subtracted.

[表1] [Table 1]

As shown in Table 2, it was found that the test piece containing the antifogging agent of the present invention is excellent in transparency because the turbidity can be suppressed even after the LED test. Further, it was found that the test piece containing the antifogging agent of the present invention is excellent in heat resistance because it has a low ΔYI and can suppress yellowing after the heat resistance test. It was found that yellowing can be satisfactorily suppressed particularly when a master batch is used.

Further, since the test piece of Comparative Example 9 was turbid, on the other hand, in another test example in which melt-kneading was carried out, an example in which no turbidity was observed was observed, and it was found that turbidity was not caused by resin damage due to melt kneading. produce.
