Description

資料串流在系統內之分配方法及裝置
本發明係關於在網路上接收節目或資料,網路互接終端機,分享此帶寬。尤指接收終端機所選擇多媒體串流遴選之仲裁方法。
本發明尤指但非限制性益處是在電視領域,更特別是在IPTV(網際網路協定電視),並選擇與訂戶數位線(數位訂戶線用之xDSL,DSL)可用帶寬拘限物關聯之通道。
併合終端機之出現,致能克服拘限物,以應通道在無充分帶寬時之顯示需要。
在IPTV網路中,終端機經由局部網路和閘口,連接到訂戶數位線,亦稱為xDSL。接收視訊串流之可能性,視xDSL線上可用帶寬而定。一方面局部網路上接收終端機倍增,增加帶寬需要,另方面因高清晰度(HD)需增加位元率,有時阻止使用者選擇之串流輸送至終端機。
按照先前技術,有些解決方式已在局部網路上相關設備內實施,以嘗試解決在可用帶寬不足時串流需要之衝突。第一種解決方案包含在接收終端機內,若帶寬不足時,對例如從高清晰度至標準高清晰之較低品質,尋求服務計劃中所選擇通道,再於無解決方案情況下,提供錯誤訊文。此設備內部解決方案不會考慮到局部網路其他設備狀態。含IP接收機構之併合設備,亦含有其他型接收機構,諸如DTT(數位地球電視)調諧器亦已開發出來。此等機構貢獻由DTT服務計劃提供之替代解決方案,以應xDSL線上帶寬不足情況。然而,此解決方案不能解消全部衝突,只限IP和DTT二服務計劃可用之通道。此解決方案受到限制,是由於DTT網路上可用通道少量之故。另有一種解決方案,基於局部網路上所用互作性 接收終端機。終端機之一整合管理系統。此終端機識別為基本終端機,其目的在管理標準終端機內之衝突。在衝突情形下,由界面通知使用者,必須使用所擬解決方案表單加以解決。
因此,使用者被強制介入解決衝突。
本發明擬克服先前技術諸缺點至少其一,提供一種方法,處理在帶寬不足情況下通道遴選造成之衝突。
本發明之目的為自動且透明之方法,利用伺服器在不同終端機所做請求,輸送所請求節目之可用源器,以及輸送節目之可能性之間進行仲裁。此項仲裁結果可在委託器局部網路上,藉終端機之源器更動而轉譯。
為此目的,本發明係關於一種資料串流在系統內之分配方法,此系統包括廣播資料系統之至少一項服務、至少一伺服器和至少二終端機,該至少二終端機之一能夠從至少二不同源器接收同樣節目。
按照本發明,此方法包括步驟為:利用該伺服器接收,由至少一個第一終端機傳送之訊文,該訊文包括資訊,指示該第一終端機不能接收資料串流以識別源器和節目,稱為第一節目,係由請求所要求;於節目傳輸至終端機之際,由該伺服器仲裁該串流之源器和該請求;把源器之更動通知至少一個第二終端機,係廣播服務對其廣播節目,稱為第二節目,以應該第一終端機之第一節目請求。
本發明亦關於一種裝置,連接到廣播資料串流之服務和至少二終端機,該至少二終端機之一能夠從至少二不同源器接收同樣節目。

以下說明是基於ADSL線上之IPTV網路型。須知此為非限制性實施例,而其他網路型亦可用。因此,本發明並不限於此型網路。圖示併合終端機亦能夠接收IP串流和來自DTT之串流,亦是做為非限制性實施例提供,其他能夠接收二或二以上串流型的併合終端機,亦在本發明範圍內。
參見第1圖,IPTV典型上包含雲端100內之設備,經由數位訂戶線xDSL或本地環路110,連接至訂戶200。
在雲端內,明顯可用伺服器101,和IPTV視聽串流廣播服務102,以確保IPTV功能。
在訂戶側,xDSL線連接至閘口201。此閘口除與xDSL線之界面外,包括訂戶通訊需要之複數網路界面,諸如致使連接到有線局部網路202或無線203之界面。在局部網路202,連接至少二IP接收終端機210,220。可攜式設備項230連接至無線網路203。
終端機210是併合終端機,包含機構,從第二型媒體接收串流。終端機210為STB HE「機上盒高端」型。通常稱為解碼器。
可接收HD和SD串流。做為高端終端機,包括記錄機構,亦稱為PVR(個人錄影機)。舉例而言,圖上所示媒體204為DTT媒體。然而,不限於此例,亦可為衛星SAT媒體,或甚至CAB電纜。併合終端機 可包括接收機構之所有組合。經網路中介205連接至媒體204。
終端機220為LE「低端」終端機。終端機220為STB LE「低端」終端機。通常亦稱為解碼器。
可接收SD串流或甚至HD,視情況而定。終端機220型係非限制性實施例,可為高端終端機,與STB HE終端機210一致。
終端機230是可攜式設備,包括特徵致使一方面連接到可攜式局部網路,並且能夠經由此網路,用做IPTV可攜式終端機。此非限制例有圖板,可攜式電腦,能夠把從IP網路接收的多元播送或單元播送串流解碼之筆電。
使用者可按照設備特徵,顯示不同服務的節目、現場節目、載錄節目,或應需影帶,稱為VOD。
如第1A圖所示,伺服器101可包括:接收模組1,接收由至少一個第一終端機210,220,230所傳送訊文,包括資訊,指示該第一終端機不能接收資料串流以識別源器和節目,稱為第一節目,係請求所要求;仲裁模組2,於節目傳輸至該終端機之際,仲裁該串流之源器和該請求;通知模組3,把源器更動通知至少一個第二終端機210,220,230,係廣播服務對其廣播節目,稱為第二節目,以應該第一終端機之該請求。
須知第1A圖之模組1,2,3表示功能性實體,不一定相當於分立之實體性實體(physical entities)。換言之,模組1,2,3可以軟體、硬體形式發展,甚至以一或若干積體電路實施,包括一或若干處理器。
第2圖表示通道選擇步驟。按照接收終端機操作,使用者211,221,231從通道表單遴選所要顯示通道,使其經個別終端機210,220,230可用。使用者在步驟E0選擇所要接收之節目。於步驟E1,終端機從為此節目的服務計劃可用之源器,選擇具有最高優先之源器,且其特徵可與終端機容量相容。下表1綜合此實施例之終端機容量。
關於源器優先,按照其原址媒體(IP,DTT,SAT,CAB等)及其解像度,以考慮其差異。
下表2表示對源器之優先例。須知P0為最高階優先,P3為最低階。須知此例係根據操作者需要修改。
在步驟E2,若選擇之通道在IP媒體上可用,終端機確保xDSL線上可用之帶寬足夠。按照本發明,使用者選擇通道並非源器,終端機再選擇源器。
XDSL線上可用帶寬之核對技術,為技術專家所公知。技術專家公知之方法,視DSL存取多工器(亦稱為DSLAM,數位訂戶線存取多工器)和特點CAC(呼叫許可控制系統)而定,更新可用帶寬側描,以取IPTV。此側描尤其含有全部帶寬以及所用之帶寬。可得解決方案以提供此資訊,給局部網路202和203上可用之終端機210,220,230。例如,伺服器101能夠為各訂戶維持表單,一方面包括全部帶寬和xDSL上從CAC可用之帶寬,另方面是各終端機使用此xDSL線所用帶寬。伺服器101因此明瞭如何分佈帶寬消費,並提供可用帶寬給其進行之終端機。因此,在使用者選擇通道當中,終端機能夠核對此通道是否可能經xDSL線接收此通道。核對可根據所用帶寬之核對方法(保持在伺服器上之資訊或在終端機位階通知),在伺服器上局部或偏離進行。
在步驟E4,若源器不因帶寬而定(經由DTT媒體)之情況時,終端機即在所選擇源器上調諧。源器為IP源器時,若帶寬足夠,終端機訂購選擇之源器,致使通道顯示。源器為多元播送,使用IGMP(網際網 路群組管理協定)請求進行,稱為IGMP接合。若終端機注意到xDSL線上缺乏帶寬,無論靠是查索含有帶寬資訊之局部表單,或經由API(應用協定界面)徵詢伺服器。即會通知伺服器101,不可能滿足使用者請求。伺服器101即進行至仲裁E3,E3',以找出所遭遇問題之解決方案。
就仲裁而言,可有不同的具體例達成例如對最後使用者211,221,231最低衝擊之優先、對服務或對終端機之優先。不同達成變化例載於第4和5圖。
於步驟E4,未找到相當於所要求節目之串流,故在步驟E6,通知終端機有帶寬不足以接收所請求串流之情形,且不能滿足請求。否則,找到串流,則終端機可接收所請求通道,步驟E5。
因此,由若干議題可達成方法結果:終端機可顯示所選擇通道,不衝擊其他終端機;終端機可顯示節目,但造成對另一終端機之衝擊;最後,以界定優先規範進行仲裁時,未找到相當於所請求通道之串流。
第2圖顯示之步驟,表示組成系統的不同裝置間之互應。此等互應由第3圖顯示,並由使用者211請求通道更動。終端機210進行源器選擇步驟E1,並核對可用帶寬E2,一如前述。在此場景,本地環路帶寬不足,終端機210通知伺服器101在過渡T21(第3圖)不可能滿足使用者請求。伺服器進行至為此例之仲裁步驟E3'。識別終端機220可更動源器,以釋出使用者211請求所需之帶寬,並繼續顯示其節目。伺服器101在過渡TA30(第3圖)當中,通知終端機220,有關更動請求,並指示關於待用之新源器。在圖示場景中,在過渡TA30(第3圖)亦把更動請求通知終端機230。只有更動相關之終端機才接到通知。
最後,在過渡TA30(第3圖)當中,伺服器101通知請求模組210接收所請求通道之可能性,終端機210即選擇通道。
俟通知終端機210選擇通道之可能性後,伺服器即更新xDSL線上可用或所用帶寬之最多資訊,與委託機相對應。
步驟F3之仲裁過程(第2圖),以最少衝擊更動源器,顯示於第4圖。此係根據表3,記錄被其他源器更動產生之衝擊程度。例如, 若原址之源器是IPHD,而仲裁研究解決方案以變換到另一目標源器DTT SD,則衝擊為6。按說明慣例,衝擊與所用數值成比例。表3為衝擊表之例。當然,可包含全部可能源器輸入在內。此外,提供之各項組合的衝擊程度,係非限制性例。可按照最小平方之方法固定,但可應用任何其他方法。
步驟E3之仲裁啟動,係由終端機通知伺服器101,請求展示不滿意的節目。此項仲裁開始尋找按照表3最低衝擊之源器更動。此舉致使識別所構想更動,尤其是相關之原址源器。考量之衝擊,係相當於流轉串流之原址,以及與終端機容量(表1)相容的可能串流之目標。
例如以程度0衝擊而言,更動相當於原址IP SD串流通過到目標DTT HD串流。參照表3,若遴選衝擊值"0"不夠,亦計劃把IP SD串流變換成IP SD串流,衝擊為"1"(第一次衝擊"0",第二次衝擊"1"),而若釋出的帶寬仍不夠,再變換到亦計劃更動成更高或相等衝擊值。因此,相關終端機會更動串流,以滿足終端機請求。
若所有衝擊組合已告運動,未釋出足夠帶寬,步驟M1即無可能之解決方案。在步驟M2,終端機被通知無法接收所請求串流。然而,若釋出之帶寬已充分,則在步驟E3識別之終端機更換源器,而請求之終端機接收所請求串流。
實施例致使基於最小衝擊之仲裁展示此具體例,xDSL線上之帶寬固定10 MB/s。在此場景,二使用者A和C觀看現場節目,而記錄正流轉中,綜列於下表4。使用者A使用終端機210,而記錄是由同樣終端機進行。使用者C使用可攜式終端機230。使用者B想要觀看終端機220上之ABC通道,步驟E0。
串流和所需帶寬之可用性如下:
於步驟E1,其容量參見表1之終端機220,從IP媒體接收串流,分SD和HD二種解像度。為現場節目服務選擇最高優先源器,為IP HD。
於步驟E2,終端機核對通道請求ABC IP HD所需帶寬,和現時可用帶寬間之相容性。終端機220注意到已使用全部帶寬。因此不能滿足使用者B請求觀看ABC,而終端機選擇源器IP HD。終端機220因此通知伺服器101有問題,造成觸發仲裁過程E3。
衝擊表係依增加順序排列。為此,在表3尋找衝擊最弱的更動。按照衝擊表,以於器IP SD串流更動至串流DTT HD之情況言,最小衝擊等於零。此為使用者C在可攜式終端機230所顯示Canal+串流之情況。可惜按照容量表1,可攜式終端機230並無容量可接收串流DTT HD。
此過程選擇表3上可得之高衝擊,重複先前搜尋。因此,對等於1的衝擊值識別三種解決方案。可把源器IP HD變換成DTT HD。事關CNN、TvBreizh和ABC串流。
TvBreizh由終端機210接收,能夠按照表1接收DTT HD源器,但DTT HD得不到通道,因此不可能把記錄變換到此源器。
ABC是終端機220所請求。但此終端機不能接收DTT。
最後,由終端機210接收之CNN,能夠接收DTT HD源器, 在HD內的媒體DTT上可得。變換成DTT HD時,此解決方案釋出4 MB/s帶寬。
再將為CNN釋出的帶寬,與ABC所需者相較。夠用。即通知終端機210,並為DTT HD上之CNN通道,自動且透明更動於源器。
對服務或對終端機優先之仲裁過程,整體與第5圖所示相同。此過程係根據二分序標準:對服務優先和對終端機優先。按照仲裁過程,於搜尋優先步驟A1當中,對優先之一較對另一優先有利。
仲裁說明是根據對服務優先。接到通知時,第一步驟A1包含利用不同終端機210,220,230分序顯示流轉串流。為此,起先應用與服務連結之優先標準。不同的可用服務有例如LIVE、PVR或甚至VOD。表6綜合對服務之優先。最高優先指定給PVR功能,但任何其他分序均有效。
然後,應用第二分序標準。此標準連結到終端機,綜列於表7。
步驟A1當中,先選擇最低優先服務,然後對接收所選擇服務的終端機進行選擇,選出最低優先者。若有若干終端機之情況,則從此 等終端機搜尋接收最低優先串流之終端機(表8)。然後,搜尋輸送所請求節目並釋出足夠帶寬(步驟2)以接收所請求節目之串流。於步驟A4當中,若一方面因為終端機無容量,致無串流相對應,且另方面因接收(例如DTT)不到串流以載所請求通道,因此即搜尋次一終端機,不是較高便是同樣優先終端機,但接收較高優先串流。一旦全部終端機都已檢查過,次一優先服務即繼續。
若在步驟A2釋出帶寬充分,接著由步驟A3進行仲裁,於此過程通知步驟A1選擇之終端機,需更動源器,並換成所提供者。然後通知請求之終端機,有顯示所請求通道之可能性。
按照替代例,請求之終端機不接收仲裁過程之通知,只是被告知可用帶寬之進度,因此可核對可用帶寬,活化所請求通道之顯示。
若無串流留在表單上,要求請求之終端機為此節目選擇較低優先源器。過程在步驟E1恢復。若無其他源器可用,使用者不能滿足,在步驟E5完成此過程。
按照另一具體例,以對終端機所說優先提出仲裁。與此變化例不同的是,在步驟A1當中,與終端機連結之優先,先考慮分序所顯示串流,再考慮連結服務之優先。因此,只要把優先順序顛倒,其他步驟保留相同。
當然,本發明涵蓋在連結於終端機和服務之間,要考慮不同的優先順序。
由以下實施例顯示的具體例中,xDSL線上可用之總帶寬為10 MB/s。二使用者A 211和B 221觀看現場傳輸。使用者C想要使用終端機210,在TVBREIZH上記錄節目影片。TVBREIZH在IP網路上有HD和SD可用。伺服器101已知之不同終端機狀態,綜列在下表9。
串流和所需帶寬之可用性如下:
於步驟E1當中,終端機選擇最高優先之通道。使用終端機210進行記錄,能夠按照表1,特別以HD和SD二種解像度,從IP媒體接收串流。從媒體和按照表2所載解像度,就IP HD源器言,對PVR服務之最高優先為P0。因此,終端機210選擇IP HD源器,再於第二步驟E2,繼續帶寬核對。
終端機計算在接收記錄請求當中消費的帶寬。此為7 MB/s,另需4 MB/s供接收TVBREIZH。接收所需11 MB/s超出最大帶寬(10 MB/s)。終端機即通知伺服器,觸發仲裁過程E3'。
由伺服器101啟動之仲裁過程,在步驟A1開始,表11。於此,對終端機優先之前,先考慮對服務優先。需要二項服務、現場和記錄。記錄更為優先,因此來自終端機210請求之記錄更為優先。因此,二現場服務視為較低優先。然後,對終端機賦予優先,於此最滴優先的是終端機220。終端機220觀看CBS通道。
然後,於步驟A2當中,進行核對較低優先源器對CBS通道之可用性。按照實施例,CBS在SD亦可得,致能釋出1 MB/s。釋出帶寬夠A3接收TVBREIZH。伺服器101因而通知終端機220更動所顯示節目類型,同時指示移到CBS IP SD多元播放位址。因此,釋出帶寬,請求終端機即可訂購所請求通道。
上述仲裁方法由伺服器擔保。此伺服器在雲端內設備項101上可得。亦可整合於閘口型裝置201。在此情況下,閘口201一方面連接至 資料串流之廣播服務,另方面連接至少二終端機,該至少二終端機之一能夠從至少二不同源器,接收同樣節目。閘口利用至少一個第一終端機,無論是終端機210或終端機220,接收資料串流之請求,識別源器和節目,稱為第一節目。於接收此請求之後,閘口注意到不能因應此項請求,例如因為帶寬不夠。在此情況下,閘口201包括表單、對各終端機指示可用帶寬或已用帶寬和已用服務。因此,包括機構以識別未應付之請求。因而例如按照第4和5圖所述具體例。仲裁不同之流轉請求和服務。於仲裁之後,當仲裁達成對所連接終端機之一的源器更動,閘口會把源器更動通知至少一個第二終端機,即廣播服務對其廣播節目,稱為第二節目,以滿足終端機之請求,其方式是把第二節目從第二源器傳送至第二終端機。
局部網路上可用接收終端機數,非限制性例。併合終端機可應接收機構之任何組合需要。

Claims (15)

  1. 一種資料串流在系統內之分配方法,此系統包括廣播資料串流之至少一項服務、至少一伺服器和至少二終端機,該至少二終端機之一能夠從至少二不同源器接收同樣節目,其特徵為,該方法包括步驟為:利用該伺服器接收,由至少一個第一終端機傳送之訊文,該訊文包括資訊,指示該第一終端機不能接收資料串流以識別源器和節目,稱為第一節目,係由請求所求;於節目傳輸至該終端機之際,由該伺服器仲裁該串流之源器和該請求;把源器之更動通知至少一個第二終端機,係廣播服務對其廣播節目,稱為第二節目,以應付該第一終端機之第一節目請求者。
  2. 如申請專利範圍第1項之方法,其中於仲裁步驟當中,考慮連接該終端機的網路上可用帶寬者。
  3. 如前述申請專利範圍之一項方法,其中優先係與各源器關聯者。
  4. 如前述申請專利範圍之一項方法,其中優先係與各終端機關聯者。
  5. 如前述申請專利範圍之一項方法,其中該請求除關聯服務外,包括請求,而優先係與各服務關聯者。
  6. 如申請專利範圍第1至5項之一項方法,其中為各源器測定衝擊值,以更動源器關聯到其他各源器衡量者。
  7. 如申請專利範圍第3項之方法,其中在仲裁步驟當中,對源器賦予最高優先者。
  8. 如申請專利範圍第4項之方法,其中在仲裁步驟當中,對終端機賦予最高優先者。
  9. 如申請專利範圍第5項之方法,其中在仲裁步驟當中,對與服務關聯之串流賦予最高優先者。
  10. 如申請專利範圍第6項之方法,其中在仲裁步驟當中,該衝擊值減到最小者。
  11. 如申請專利範圍第2至10項之方法,其中當該請求中所請求串流導致溢流至該網路上可用帶寬時,消費較少帶寬之串流,即分配給至少該第二終端機,其方式為,分配給該終端機之總串流,不會溢流可用總帶寬者。
  12. 如申請專利範圍第3至6項之方法,其中該終端機係使更動源器之該衝擊減到最少之終端機;或最低優先之終端機;或從最低優先的源器接收串流之終端機者。
  13. 如申請專利範圍第3至5項之方法,其中在仲裁步驟當中,考慮對服務之優先順序,先對終端機優先,再對源器優先者。
  14. 如前述申請專利範圍之一項方法,其中考慮各終端機從源器接收串流之容量者。
  15. 一種裝置,供連接服務以廣播資料串流,並連接至少二終端機,該至少二終端機之一能夠從至少二不同源器接收同樣節目,此裝置之特徵為包括:接收機構,接收由至少一個第一終端機傳送之訊文,包括資訊,指示該第一終端機不能接收資料串流以識別源器和節目,稱為第一節目,係由請求所要求;仲裁機構,於節目傳輸至該終端機之際,仲裁該串流之源器和該請求;通知機構,把源器之更動通知至少一個第二終端機,係廣播服務對其廣播節目,稱為第二節目,以應該第一終端機之該項請求者。
