本發明大致上係有關一種網際網路電視系統，尤指一種網際網路電視系統其配備有一電視，例如一高端、當代之大平板螢幕電視(high-end,contemporary large flat screen television)，其具有電漿、液晶顯示器螢幕，及/或最近的螢幕技術，且具有一無線上網(WIFI)及/或其它接收器及/或傳輸器，具有一滑鼠之無線鍵盤，以及一高端個人電腦(high-end PC)之其它組件、功能、特點。
將實際上美國家庭共通之兩種技術觀點結合是重要的，尤其令人嚮往的是將電視與具有互連網功能之電腦(internet-capable computer)結合。就分別考慮而言，電視與個人電腦使得在此等科技上徹底改變了生活且提供了精緻化(revolutionized lives and refinements)，例如大的平板螢幕電視以及無線網際網路持續地往這方面發展。
本發明為一種透過電視以使用網際網路之電視系統，該電視具有一顯示幕，且該電視系統包含一安裝於電視內之無線網際網路接收器及/或傳輸器，其中該網際網路接收器及傳輸器容許使用者經由該電視以使用網際網路。
此外，本發明為一種透過電視以使用網際網路之電視系統，該電視 具有一顯示幕，且該電視系統包含一安裝於電視內之無線網際網路接收器及/或傳輸器、以及網際網路瀏覽器(internet browser)與電郵程式(e-mail program)之軟體。該網際網路接收器及傳輸器容許使用者經由該電視以使用網際網路。該網際網路可顯示於電視顯示螢幕之一部分，而同時在電視顯示螢幕之另一部分顯示著一電視節目。
本發明進一步包含一種透過電視以使用網際網路之方法，該電視具有一顯示幕。該方法包含於電視內安裝一無線網際網路接收器及/或傳輸器，並透過該電視以使用網際網路。
如圖1所示，本發明為一種網際網路電視系統(大致上以編號10標示)，可配備一高端各種尺寸之當代大平板螢幕電視12，其具有電漿液晶顯示器螢幕，及/或最近的螢幕技術，且具有一無線網際網路接收器及/或傳輸器，一無線鍵盤14、以及一高端個人電腦之其它組件、功能、特點例如處理器、操作系統、記憶體或類似者等。附件為併入本案參考之證據A(Exhibit A)四張紙。
本發明之網際網路電視系統10配備有一優質平板螢幕12，其有一無線網際網路接收器及/或傳輸器其等之功能類似一無線路由器(wireless router)以及一無線鍵盤14，以及網際網路瀏覽器、電郵程式之軟體、以及其它所需之軟體或應用服務(applications services)或功能。本發明網際網路電視系統10擴大電視之功能至包括了一大型高解析度電腦顯示器(large,high-definition computer monitor)。各種型號可有各種尺寸、組件及特色。本發明之網際網路電視系統10可經配備而與無線網際網路路由器連接及/或與無線上網網站(Wi-Fi networks)、行動/衛星網際網路(cellular/satellite internet)、或其它型式之網際網路連接。電視12上之螢幕選項使得使用者以全螢幕觀賞電視12及影帶、以全螢幕閱覽網際網路(並自網際網路下載)、以及同時間之分割視窗或多個視窗之功能，使得閱覽者同時享受電視及網際網路視窗。本發明之網際網路電視系統10能夠與其它家用無線裝置例如智慧型手機與個人數位助理(PDA)、個人電腦、印表機等具有相容性， 因此內容(content)可由該等裝置分享或下載至網際網路電視12。此外，安裝在家裡之多數個網際網路電視系統10可彼此無線連接，就如同多數個筆記型電腦分享相同之無線路由器信號(wireless router signal)一樣。
本發明之網際網路電視系統10之各種型號亦可配備其自身之CD/DVD燒錄器，以便自電視或網際網路下載或複製光碟。有些網際網路電視系統10或許還可包括一內建之數據機(built-in modem)以及一安全數據卡槽(secure data card slot,SD card slot)、及/或通用序列匯排流(USB)或其它埠(ports)，以便容納自電腦所下載之數據或文件傳輸至電視12。由於當代之筆記型電腦(laptops)、平板電腦(tablets)、以及易網機(netbooks)之體積小巧，在現代科技能力內，足以將一完整或部份之電腦組件及特色併入本發明之網際網路電視系統10內，因而產生一真正獨特之集所有功能於一身之系統(all-in-one system)。
本發明之網際網路電視系統10係一結合了大平板螢幕、電漿、液晶顯視器、或其它電視12，而具有無線網際網路能力之家庭娛樂(home-entertainment)、資訊(information)、以及通信系統(communication)，提供了使用者莫大之便利性及多樣性。本發明之網際網路電視系統10，係結合了電視及網際網路瀏覽器之功能，使得使用者例如能夠在一視窗上觀賞電影，並使用網際網路辨識星星、位置，並閱讀彼此對於電影之看法。使用者可利用其網際網路電視系統10下載影片(video)、觀賞電視、聽收音機、以及其它來自網際網路之節目，且藉著點滑鼠或敲擊一下或兩下無線鍵盤14，即刻享受在一大的、平板銀幕、高解析度電視12上的內容。再者，由於本發明之網際網路電視系統10經設計為可與各種其它無線裝置無線通信，並與室內之其他網際網路電視系統10通信，本發明之網際網路電視系統10之功能是超過一般之家電產品，而是一種多式聯運無線通信系統(multi-modal wireless communications)10。對於喜愛電視、電影、電玩(video games)、以及其它與電視結合之項目者，以及對喜歡網際網路互聯網世界(on-line world of the Internet)而言，同樣有使用上價值的是，本發明之網際網路電視系統10意味著在一單機上即可滿足所有 當代家庭裡之電子娛樂/資訊之需求。
本發明之網際網路電視系統10之各種型號亦可做為商業上展示板之使用，並可做為飯店、醫院、餐廳、機場或其他公共場合內部或外部之使用。本發明之網際網路電視系統10之某些型號亦可使用聲控應用技術而由聲音控制，例如本發明之網際網路電視系統10之某些型號可具有使用者可與之通信聯絡之個人助理。
圖2基本上顯示電視上使用影音辨識之範例，在圖2中使用者正與電視溝通，向電視上化身(Avatar)尋找自晚上九點起之喜劇電影節目單；在回應上化身將會尋找該時間起之喜劇電影節目單。電視上呈現的影像化身，其可為一男性或女性，且隨著使用者之選擇而有了名字及影像。例如，一個中國人可選用中國名字以做為電視上化身之稱呼，而美國人則使用美國名字。
使用者可問化身任何問題，像是天氣怎樣，而化身即可取得天氣預報資料。使用者亦可利用化身查詢事實(look up facts)、找尋電影、音樂、電動遊戲、餐廳地點、銀行、公共場所、網上購物等類似者。這份節目單可持續下去，而有無限的可能。
上述舉例說明以及本發明較佳實施例之闡述，已由附圖解說並加以詳細說明，並經教示有變化之改變及可替代之實施例。本發明固然經過圖示、說明並描述，然習於此技藝之人仕應可知，本發明可經形式及細節之等效改變而不會脫離本發明真正精神與範疇，且本發明除非受到先前技藝所排除，否則僅以申請專利範圍做限制。而且，本文所揭示之本發明在欠缺此處所揭露之特定元件之情形下，亦適於被實施。

Claims (20)

  1. 一種透過電視以使用網際網路之電視系統，該電視具有一顯示螢幕，該電視系統包含：一安裝於電視內之無線網際網路接收器及/或傳輸器；其中該網際網路接收器及傳輸器容許使用者經由該電視以使用網際網路。
  2. 根據申請專利範圍第1項之電視系統，進一步包含：一可與該網際網路接收器及傳輸器互動之無線鍵盤。
  3. 根據申請專利範圍第1項之電視系統，進一步包含：網際網路瀏覽器以及電郵程式之軟體。
  4. 根據申請專利範圍第1項之電視系統，其中該網際網路接收器及傳輸器係與一無線網際網路路由器連接，以及與無線上網網站、行動/衛星網際網路、以及其它型式之網際網路連接。
  5. 根據申請專利範圍第1項之電視系統，其中該網際網路係顯示於整個電視之顯示螢幕。
  6. 根據申請專利範圍第1項之電視系統，其中該網際網路係僅顯示於一部份之電視顯示螢幕，而一電視節目經顯示於該電視顯示螢幕之另一部分。
  7. 根據申請專利範圍第6項之電視系統，其中該顯示螢幕可經水平或垂直平均分割成半，而使各別成半顯示於顯示螢幕之網際網路與電視節目同時顯示。

  15. 一種透過電視以使用網際網路之電視系統，該電視具有一顯示螢幕，該電視系統包含：一安裝於電視內之無線網際網路接收器及/或傳輸器；以及一網際網路瀏覽器以及一電郵程式之軟體；其中該網際網路接收器及傳輸器容許使用者經由該電視以使用網際網路；以及其中該網際網路係僅顯示於一部份之電視顯示螢幕，而一電視節目經顯示於該電視顯示螢幕之另一部分。
  16. 根據申請專利範圍第15項之電視系統，進一步包含：一可與該網際網路接收器及傳輸器互動之無線鍵盤。
