A composite material that can broaden light-absorption range of the original constituent material is made by contacting and fixing two or more than two complete oxides with oxygen reduced oxide having the same constituent material as the complete oxide to obtain a composite material. The composite material obtained can achieve the purpose of broadening light-absorption range by effective photo-induced reaction. The composite material of this invention does not involve a high-temperature calcination process during the contact and fixing operation. Therefore, it can be applied to plastics or other substrates that are not suitable for high-temperature heating.
