Abstract

A discharge lamp with a reflector capable of lowering more temperature of the molybdenum foil embedded in a sealing tube, connected a luminotron, than conventional one and extending a service life of the lamp. A discharge lamp 100 with reflector according to the present invention is characterized in that it comprises: an ellipse reflector 3 having an opening part 3a and a neck part 3b; a luminotron 1 having an approximately spherical lamination part 11 at the central part, with a F electrode 12, a R electrode 13 welding a R molybdenum foil 16 welded with a R lead line 18 and mercury 14 sealed in the lamination part; a ceramic ring 2 fixed to the neck part 3b of the ellipse reflector 3 and having an outer peripheral surface and an inner peripheral surface; an recess part 2c formed between the outer peripheral surface and the inner peripheral surface of the terminal part opposite to the terminal part of the ceramic ring 2 where the ceramic ring 2 is fixed to the ellipse reflector 3; a protruding part 24 disposed vertically from the bottom surface including the inner spherical surface of the recess part 2c in a center line direction of the luminotron 1.
