Abstract

To eliminate the defects of conventional technique for producing a stripe pattern knit fabric wherein the number of the knitting yarns (color yarns) is larger than the number of yarn feeding fingers arranged on a feed yarn changeover apparatus. The method for knitting a stripe pattern performs the knitting of one course with a first feeder having a first feed yarn changeover apparatus and a second feeder having a second feed yarn changeover apparatus. The first feeder performs welt needle selection. A knitting yarn trapped with a trapper stably keeps the angle introduced to a yarn carrier when a knitting yarn is newly supplied from the first feed yarn changeover apparatus to the knitting needle.
