The two-stepped opening type lock handle apparatus for door of the present invention includes a latch unit 1 fixed to a frame 11, and a handle unit 2 fixed to a door 12. A latch bolt 4 can be moved back and forth freely with respect to a bearing seat 3 and is biased to a forward position. The handle unit 2 has a handle shaft 5 and an operation handle 6, and can be rotated between a first position and a second position separate from each other with a certain angle. The handle shaft 5 has a first lock bolt 7 and a second lock bolt 8 located separately in an anteroposterior direction and separately with a certain angle. An engaging surface 10 of the latch bolt 4 engages with the lock bolt 7 to lock the door 12 in a locking operation when the latch bolt 4 has been released and returned to the forward position after the lock bolt 7 being detached from an incline 9. Moreover, in an unlocking operation, the engaging surface 10 of the latch bolt 4 engages with the lock bolt 8 of the handle shaft 5 in the second position to temporarily stop the door in a half open position.
