Abstract
An inertia-wheel-type vehicle with energy storage/release functions includes a plurality of wheels, a power system connected to the wheels, an energy storage device including an inertia wheel, a stepless speed change device connected to the power system, and an electric control device capable of controlling the three above-mentioned components for cooperating with each other in order to achieve the effect of energy storage/release. The power system includes a power source capable of driving the wheels to rotate. When the vehicle is reducing its speed, the electric control device controls the inertia wheel, through the stepless speed change device, connected to the power system. Thus, kinetic energy from the power source is stored through rotation of the inertia wheel. When the vehicle is accelerating, the kinery energy from rotation of the inertia wheel is released to the power system for driving the wheels to rotate in cooperation with the power source. This can achieve the effect of energy storage/release and reducing energy consumption of the power source.
