Abstract

The present invention provides a system and a method for detecting directing of a finger, where the method comprises: capturing a plurality of hand images of a user by a plurality of image capturing devices; performing image processing of the plurality of captured hand images by a processor to find a plurality of directional lines of the finger; employing a coordinate transformation program to transform the finger directional lines into a plurality of projection lines on a directional plane; and finally finding an intersection of the plurality of projection lines that is a target point directed by the finger of the user. No need of positioning or labeling glove, the present invention is capable of detecting any target point on a plane pointed by the user with high discrimination and accuracy without and can be used as a man-machine interface to replace a laser pen or mouse in a briefing system.
