Abstract

A coating fluid which exerts no adverse influence on the global environment and less influences bases made of synthetic resins, comprises any of various film-forming ingredients evenly dissolved or dispersed therein, has excellent spreadability on the base surface, and has excellent dryability; and a method of coating film formation by which a coating film reduced in unevenness can be formed on a base made of a synthetic resin in a short time without exerting an adverse influence on the global environment and on the base. The coating fluid comprises: tridecafluorooctane or a solvent composition consisting of at least 60 mass% tridecafluorooctane and other organic solvent(s); and a film-forming ingredient. The method comprises applying the coating fluid to a base and evaporating the solvent to form a coating film on the base.
