Abstract

This invention proposes a switching technique of the inverter for the permanent magnet synchronous motors and synchronous reluctance motors. Based on the models of the different switching modes of the inverter and the measurement of the stator currents, the current deviation of the inverter in the different switching states can be predicted. As a result, the optimum switching patterns of the inverter can be obtained by detecting the currents and the rotor position of the motor. By using the proposed method, the drive system can effectively reduce the harmonics of the stator current and the switching frequency of the inverter. The switching loss of the inverter, therefore, can be reduced.
