Abstract

An emission source includes an electrically conductive base, a carbon nanotube and a film. The electrically conductive base includes a tip part. One end of the carbon nanotube is attached on the surface of the tip part. The other end of the carbon nanotube extends outwards along the tip part of the electrically conductive base. The film is arranged on at least the surface of the other end of the carbon nanotube. The work function of the film is lower than the work function of the carbon nanotube. A method for making the emission source is also provided.
