Abstract

A liquid crystal display and a driving method thereof. The liquid crystal display's liquid crystal display panel comprises pixels, data lines, a first scan line, a second scan line and a level shift device. Each pixel at least comprises a first sub-pixel and a second-pixel respectively. The first sub-pixel has a first sub-pixel electrode, and the second sub-pixel has a second sub-pixel electrode. The data lines transmit image data to the first sub-pixel and the second sub-pixel. The first scan line transmits a first scan-driving signal for controlling the first sub-pixel and the second-pixel. The second scan line transmits a second scan-driving signal. The level shift device is coupled between the second sub-pixel electrode and a common electrode. The second scan-driving signal controls the level shift device to change the second sub-pixel electrode's voltage. So the first sub-pixel electrode's voltage and the second sub-pixel electrode's voltage are different.
