Abstract

The present invention relates to a multi-mode cooler with a thermo-electric cooler and its cooling method, which utilizes multiple coolers to respectively perform forced heat conducting procedures to different heat sources. The cooler with the thermo-electric cooler of the present invention comprises a combination of multiple modes, comprising: a first cooler module includes a first fin set, wherein the first fin set has a heat sink base, and the heat sink base is simultaneously attached to the heat source and the thermo-electric cooler; a thermo-electric cooler attached to the heat source, wherein the thermo-electric cooler transfers heat of the heat source from a heat absorption end to a heat release end; a second fin module includes a second fin set, wherein the second fin set has a heat sink base, and the heat sink base is attached to the thermo-electric cooler. Therefore, when the present invention performs a cooling procedure to a heat source such as a central processor unit or a graphics processor unit, the thermo-electric cooler used for conducting heat could also have a cooler module to help cooling the heat release end of the thermo-electric cooler, thereby achieving a multi-mode cooling method, so as to dissipate heat generated by the heat source (chipset) via two heat conducting paths.
