Abstract

There is provided a method for manufacturing a color filter with high efficiency, low cost, and high positional accuracy of pixels without color mingling. The color filter does not cause display unevenness when mounted on a display apparatus. The method for manufacturing a color filter includes: forming a partition wall having light-shielding property on a substrate; discharging, by an inkjet method, inks in red (R), green (G), and blue (B) colors to the concave areas that are separated from each other by the partition wall, so as to form colored layers through deposition of the R, G, and B inks in the concave areas, the colored layer in each color being cured by active energy rays after the formation thereof; and heating the colored layers to further cure the colored layers after all of the colored layers are cured. Each of the inks is a polymerizable ink which is substantially free of solvent and which includes a colorant, a polymerizable compound, and a polymerization initiator.
