Abstract
There are provided an apparatus and a method for measuring wear level of a wheel used in equipment for cutting a flat substrate. The apparatus comprises: a wear-measuring unit for measuring a state of wear level of the wheel according to a contact position of the wheel and a measurement block; a storing unit for storing data of the wheel and the measurement block; a controller for determining the state of wear level of the wheel, by comparing a data measured by the wear-measuring unit with a data stored in the storing unit; and a notifying unit for notifying replacement of the wheel, depending on a result of the determination by the controller. In accordance with the apparatus and the method for measuring wear level of the wheel for forming an engraving, the time of replacement for the wheel is accurately informed, thereby preventing a failure during a glass substrate engraving or cutting process, reducing the cost required for maintenance and repair due to the decrease of a failure rate, increasing the yield, and reducing the production cost of unit process.
